In this short meditation, we’ll focus our sense of awareness along the spine in four conscious breaths. By fostering a sense of conscious awareness, we free ourselves from the thinking mind. We can return to this centered state throughout our day.

Welcome,

Friends.

Today,

Let's center our awareness in order to step back from thought.

Find your comfortable position,

Upright but not tense.

Take a couple of comfortable breaths that allow your body to relax.

Now,

Intentionally,

Take a deep,

Slow breath and hold.

As you release,

Allow your sense of awareness to pool beneath the crown of the head and rest.

Rest.

Another deep,

Slow breath in and hold.

And as you release,

Allow that sense of awareness to pool down the center of the brain and brain stem to the top of the back of the neck and rest.

Rest.

Another deep,

Slow breath in and hold.

And as you release,

Allow your awareness to pool down the spine to the area behind the heart and rest.

Another deep,

Slow breath in and hold.

And as you release,

Allow your awareness to move down the spine to pool in the tailbone and rest.

Continue now your slow,

Deep breathing,

Holding on the top and strengthening your sense of awareness along the spine on each release,

Then pause at the bottom.

From this centered position,

From the crown of the head and down the spine to the tailbone,

It is virtually impossible to be lost in thought.

Any time in your day,

You may shift your sense of awareness to this centered position and step back from the busy analytical mind in just four breaths.

Have a beautiful day.
