This is a short practice to be used as a simple tool in preparation for a performance of any kind. An invitation to check in with the body and cultivate an appreciation for the way it supports you in showing up to perform. This includes a breathing practice.

I'm just taking a moment to either lower the gaze or gently closing the eyes.

Beginning to settle and turning the awareness inward and noticing how that happens for you.

Noticing any sensations you can feel.

Maybe the heart beating.

Feeling shaky or grounded.

Feeling coolness or warmth in the air temperature.

Knowing that whatever you're feeling is welcome.

And if there is a sense of shakiness or intensity,

Just knowing that this is the brilliance of the body really preparing you to perform.

The whole body engaged to make sure that you can really show up and express yourself authentically.

And taking a moment just to appreciate the body's wisdom.

Create your own bravery and authenticity in being here.

And taking a moment just to cultivate an intention for this performance.

How you'd really like to show up.

How you'd like the impact to be.

And inviting this intention into the heart.

Letting that drop in.

And taking a few rounds of straw breathing.

In through the nose and out through pursed lips as if blowing out through the straw.

And taking one last round.

And sensing your whole body alive,

Awake,

Alert with this life force energy.

Allowing it to move through you.

And inviting this presence with you into your performance.
