Hello and welcome to this meditation on balancing the root chakra.
To begin I invite you to find yourself in a comfortable position that allows you to feel grounded.
Perhaps if you are sitting in a chair,
You sit in such a way so that your feet feel securely planted on the floor.
Or perhaps if you are lying down,
Just make sure that you feel supported.
You want to find yourself in a position that allows you to breathe freely.
Perhaps loosening any tight clothing.
As you settle into this position,
Just allow yourself to arrive in this present moment.
If you haven't already done so,
You can either soften your gaze or begin to close your eyes.
And slowly just begin to bring your awareness to the lower portion of your body.
Your feet,
Your legs,
Your knees.
So for this chakra we are going to start by just starting to connect to these parts of the body.
If you would like to visualize a color,
You can visualize the color red perhaps infusing your legs.
Infusing your bones.
And when you feel that connection with that lower portion of your body,
You can bring your awareness to the location of the root chakra.
The Mulandara.
This chakra is located at the very base of your pelvic floor.
Down at the depth of your bone midway between the body.
This chakra represents your sense of stability,
The sense of I am-ness.
It reflects on your ability to trust,
To feel grounded.
Your sense of well-being and self-preservation.
It helps to give you the perspective to slow down when life seems to get ahead of you.
When this chakra feels at a balance,
It can feel sometimes like we have lost the will to live.
Or maybe it feels like we are in pure survival mode.
We are constantly in fight-flight.
Sometimes it feels like we need our life to be very rigid.
Or sometimes it feels like we don't have any sort of security whatsoever.
In this meditation,
We are going to set an intention to balance the root chakra.
To help us feel a healthy sense of security,
Of trust.
And also help us let go of some of those deep childhood traumas that tend to reside in the root chakra as well.
It all starts by just connecting,
By opening yourself up to receive information from this part of your body.
From this wheel of energy that moves within you.
So bringing your awareness down,
Down to the base by the pelvic floor.
Just imagine that for the duration of this practice,
This is the house of your consciousness.
We often associate our mind with being the location of consciousness,
But it permeates our entire body.
So allow your full awareness to sink down to the root chakra.
In a moment I'm going to guide you through some affirmations that you can repeat and say with me either out loud or in your head.
We'll be repeating these affirmations seven times.
We're going to start just by taking some deep breaths together,
Sinking our breaths.
We can imagine that we're sending our breath all the way down deep past the belly and into that pelvic floor.
So we'll inhale together,
Exhale,
Keep breathing here.
Now the first affirmation that we're going to repeat is I am grounded.
Inhale together and repeat with me.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
The next affirmation we're going to repeat is I am safe.
Inhale together.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
The next affirmation is I am strong.
Inhale together.
I am strong.
I am strong.
I am strong.
I am strong.
I am strong.
I am strong.
I am strong.
The next affirmation we'll repeat together is I let go of what doesn't serve me.
Inhale together.
I let go off what doesn't serve me.
I let go of what doesn't serve me.
I let go of what doesn't serve me.
I let go of what doesn't serve me.
The last affirmation we are going to repeat together is I accomplish anything I want to.
Inhale together.
I accomplish anything I want to.
I accomplish anything I want to.
I accomplish anything I want to.
I accomplish anything I want to.
I accomplish anything I want to.
I accomplish anything I want to.
Allow your breath to go to a gentle and natural rhythm.
Notice any sensations that you may feel having just bounced these aspects of yourself that sometimes we place doubt on.
Sometimes we question.
Fencing our root chakra,
We gain a sense of who we are.
That may be a deep question to ask,
But it's not something that you need to be able to explain.
It's a feeling of knowing who you are.
It's a feeling of familiarity in your own body,
In your own skin,
In your own mind.
Feel into that sense of identity now.
Feel good about who you are.
Again if you want one last glimpse of that color,
You can now imagine that that area of root chakra is glowing brighter than ever in that deep red.
And then just send one last intention for that balanced energy that you've created to be able to permeate throughout the body so that you may feel balanced with all of the other chakras.
When you feel ready,
You can begin to bring your awareness back into the body as a whole,
Perhaps inviting some subtle movement.
And then when you feel ready,
You can even gently begin to open your eyes and see the world around you.
Thank you for allowing me to guide you through this practice.
Namaste.
