Bedtime can be a particularly hard time for children (or anyone!) so I designed this children's meditation to help them learn how to breathe and relax as part of the bedtime routine. Enjoy it as part of your daily ritual and bonding experience. Intended for children aged 3 - 18.

Just breathe.

Feel your breath go in and out.

Now start to imagine that your belly is a blue balloon.

With each breath in,

You're filling up that blue balloon.

With each breath out,

All the air leaves that balloon.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Now imagine that your belly is a red balloon.

When you breathe in,

You fill up that red balloon,

Wanting your belly get super big.

And then when you breathe out,

All the air leaves that red balloon.

Do it again.

Now just imagine that your belly is a yellow balloon.

With each breath in,

You fill up that yellow balloon.

When you breathe out,

You let all the air out of the yellow balloon.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Now imagine that your belly is a green balloon.

When you breathe in,

It fills up there.

When you breathe out,

All the air releases.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Now imagine that your belly is a purple balloon.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

And just continue to breathe normally,

Feeling any sensations in your body,

In your face.

Just put a smile on your face.

Tell yourself,

I love you.

You're okay.

I love you.

You're okay.

And continue to tell yourself that whenever you need to hear it.

Continue to breathe.

Bring your attention back to the room.

And whenever you feel ready,

You can finish.
