Our feelings are our responsiblity. Our children don't deserve our pain. As difficult as it is to admit, I can understand why people hurt their children. There are moments that it takes every ounce of strength I can find, to refrain from saying or doing the terrible things that are raging inside of me. It is in those moments, or hopefully pre-emptively, that this meditation can help us refrain from taking out our pain on our children, and remember their innocence, so that we can access the infinite love we truly have for them, especially when it's hard.

5 minutes for parenting patience.

First,

Just start by thanking yourself for taking this time to go within.

Just imagine an anxiety scale within you from 0 to 10.

10 being completely stressed out and 0 being completely calm.

Just take a moment to take inventory on how you are feeling right now.

Notice your breath,

Any tension in your shoulders,

Back,

Neck or face.

And just identify where you are on this anxiety scale.

With each breath,

Feel the tension in your body begin to unravel.

Notice the level on your scale gently begins to decrease.

As you continue to breathe deeply,

Remember that everything is okay.

In the grand scheme of things,

Everything is just fine.

Continue to breathe deep belly breaths as you allow that scale to gently find its way down.

Allow yourself to fill with gratitude,

Patience and calm as you release frustration,

Anxiety,

Impatience and control.

Remind yourself of how much you love your children.

See their essence,

See their soul,

Feel their love.

Connect as you breathe.

Continue to connect and breathe.

Telling yourself it's okay to let go of anything that keeps you from feeling in love and fully connected with your child.

I actually liked that the words ended without warning. The chimes also ended so I knew it was at the end, but it allowed me to stay where I was and come back when I was ready.
