This Somatic Internal Family Systems (IFS) meditation gently guides you to explore your body as a sacred landscape, inviting parts of yourself to step forward and share their stories. Through breathwork, somatic awareness, and compassionate Self-energy, you’ll cultivate connection, healing, and integration within. This practice emphasizes a vital 10–15 minute integration period, encouraging you to immerse in the experience and allow shifts to deeply settle. It’s perfect for moments when you’re seeking emotional release, nervous system regulation, or a deeper sense of embodiment. You are seen. You are valued. You are whole. Ideal for anyone on a healing journey who is curious about the connection between the mind, body, and Self. This Practice is inspired by the book Somatic Internal Family Systems Therapy by Susanna McConnell

Welcome,

My loves.

To feel it,

To heal it.

Let's begin with grounding.

Find a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down.

Close your eyes and take three slow,

Deep breaths.

As you exhale,

Allow your body to soften into the present moment.

Bring your attention to your body.

Notice any physical sensations.

Warmth,

Tightness,

Tingling,

Or spaciousness.

You don't need to change anything.

Simply observe and acknowledge what's present.

Imagine your body as a living landscape.

Maybe it feels like a garden,

Forest,

Or an open field.

Allow this image to arise naturally,

Letting your body guide the visualization.

As you breathe,

Bring awareness to one area of your body that calls for your attention.

This could be a place of tension,

Heaviness,

Or even a sense of lightness.

Focus on this area gently,

With curiosity.

Ask yourself,

What part of me might be living here?

Pause and notice if any images,

Words,

Emotions,

Or sensations arise.

Now,

Invite this part of you to make itself known more clearly.

You might imagine it as a figure,

Shape,

Color,

Or simply a felt sense in your body.

Ask this part,

What do you want me to know?

How long have you been here?

What are you protecting me from,

Or helping me with?

Listen patiently to any responses.

If no words come,

That's okay.

Stay with a sensation or image,

Offering it your presence and attention.

Thank this part for showing up.

Remind it that it is welcome here.

Let it know you are here to understand,

Not to change or fix it.

From this place of curiosity,

Ask the part,

What do you need from me right now?

If you feel any physical shifts,

Like your body relaxing or sensations changing,

Simply notice and honor them.

When you feel ready,

Thank this part for connecting with you.

Let it know.

Visualize the energy of this interaction gently spreading throughout your entire body,

Like warm light or a soothing wave,

Bringing harmony,

Balance,

And integration.

Imagine your whole being aligning with each part gently settling into place,

Held within the compassionate presence of yourself.

The most essential part of this practice is allowing space for integration.

Take 10 to 15 minutes,

If possible,

To remain present in your body,

Letting the experience settle fully.

I invite you to notice the sensations,

Emotions,

Or thoughts that continue to unfold.

Stay curious about any lingering shifts in your body,

And to allow stillness without rushing to process mentally.

Simply be with the felt sense of the experience.

This additional time is a profound investment in your healing,

Offering your nervous system the space to fully absorb and embody the shifts from the session.

Integration is where true transformation takes root,

Helping your parts feel heard,

Honored,

And truly met with self-energy.

When you feel ready to return fully,

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,

Reconnecting with the space around you.

Open your eyes softly,

Bring your presence back into the room.

Carry this sense of wholeness with you today,

Trusting that your body holds wisdom and healing when given the space to be fully heard.

Thank you for being here and showing up for yourself,

For feeling and healing alongside me.

Until next time,

With love and light.
