Welcome.
This is Pod McGordon.
And I've been reflecting about making space,
Making room.
Making room for me means opening to receive.
Receive who you are.
Receive what you're doing.
Because when we receive,
It goes in.
Just like when you take the time to really be present and taste your food,
You receive it more deeply.
The taste,
The texture,
And the nourishment.
So in life,
It's very important that we make room to receive.
And with that,
Let's begin this meditation.
If your eyes are not already closed,
Please close them.
And feel the weight of your eyelids.
And notice the darkness behind your eyes.
Letting your spine be long and relaxed.
And once you're comfortable in your seat,
Allow yourself to take some nice,
Generous breaths.
Because breath makes room.
Breath makes room for you to be.
So allowing yourself to really receive your breath.
This is the breath of aliveness.
This is the breath of presence.
So as you breathe,
You are making room to be ever more present and alive.
And it can be simple to receive your breath,
To make room.
Make room for being alive.
And let yourself rest into the empty spaces.
The spaces between my words.
And as you breathe,
You drop deeper and deeper inside,
Making room for being alive.
And as you breathe,
You drop deeper and deeper inside,
Making room to receive,
To receive who you are.
You can be so easy to focus on who you're not and the things that you are not getting done on your task list.
And instead,
I invite you to make room.
Make room for who you are.
Make room for the goodness that lives in you.
And as you make room,
You are receiving,
Receiving the nourishment of who you already are.
Just as when you are present with your food,
You receive the nourishment of what it is you're eating.
And by doing this meditation,
You are developing your capacity to make room for what is,
Whether you like it or you don't,
Making room for your feelings.
And the more you listen to this meditation,
The easier it is to make room,
Even in a challenging moment where resistance may arise or fear or upset.
Make room.
So let's take a few minutes together to make room to receive who you are,
What you are feeling.
This is a practice.
Make room.
And I will be here holding the space so that you can invite yourself to make room for all of who you are.
So make room for what you love about yourself.
So make room for the things that might be harder to accept.
See if you can make room and delight in what might be called an imperfection.
Make room.
So make room for your feelings.
For sadness,
Grief,
Anger,
And joy.
Make room for gratitude.
Taking a moment,
Perhaps resting a hand on your heart or your belly or both,
And make room for gratitude.
Gratitude is the seed of self-love,
Of joy,
Of ecstasy.
Make room for gratitude.
And very gently,
Allow yourself to come back into the room,
Recognizing that you can revisit this meditation again and again,
And that each time you practice,
You are practicing with many others who are also making room all over the world.
Make room to be alive.
Make room.
Make room.
Make room.
