by Loula Love
Hello and welcome to this practice where you experience your anxiety as simply a passing storm, you are capable of riding out the weather. Allow me to guide you to the eye of the storm. Sit back relax and experience your anxiety in a new way.
Transcript
Find yourself in a comfortable seated position.
Use whatever relaxing position makes you feel comfortable,
Whatever makes you feel at ease.
Allow your eyes to gently close.
Let a wave of relaxation wash over you.
Take some deep breaths in through your nose and exhale out from your mouth.
Take a moment to appreciate and acknowledge your commitment to this relaxing session.
This is your time to find your peace of mind,
To really find your inner balance and see everything in perspective.
Take a long deep breath in through your nose and exhale out from your mouth with a sigh.
Try to feel even more grounded in your position and feel the earth cradling and supporting you.
Take at least three breaths at your own pace,
Nothing fancy.
Just breathe into your thoughts and whatever shows up,
Observe it.
Accept it.
Then let it all go.
If you feel anxious,
Worried,
And scared,
Just take your time to become present again.
Take a breath and get back on track.
Don't worry about what happened earlier and don't worry about what is going to happen next.
It's just your mind.
You and your mind.
Here you are safe.
You are supported.
You can get through this.
You can get through anything.
Take a long deep breath in through the nose and exhale out of your mouth with a sigh.
Imagine with each breath you can push any negative thought away.
You have the ability to clear your mind with the power of your breath,
This vital life force.
And again,
Breathe in,
Visualize what makes you anxious,
And breathe out,
Watching it disappear.
Good.
Now allow your mind to drift to the thought of a warm and delightful beach.
Breathe in the fresh salty air.
Feel the breeze on your face.
Notice the ocean and its blueness.
You can hear the waves crashing on the sand.
It is so relaxing here.
Feel the warm sun on your skin.
Notice the feeling of the soft sand under your feet.
This beach is so beautiful.
You feel at complete peace here.
And you're looking through the sand,
And you see things like pretty shells,
And you see a piece of driftwood.
So pick it up and draw your name in the sand near the waves.
Now step back and look at your name.
You see a wave come and partially wash away your name back into the ocean,
Taking away all of your old,
Limiting beliefs and ways with it.
And another wave comes and washes your name away even more,
Taking away with it all of your depression.
Another wave washes away all of your self-doubts.
Then a final wave comes and washes away all of your old,
Limiting beliefs and ways with it.
Then a final wave comes and washes away all of your fears,
Along with your entire name.
You feel so light and clear and open,
Ready for new,
Wonderful information to create good habits and actions.
Now begin to visualize yourself in a time when depression no longer plays a role in your life.
See yourself exercising regularly.
See yourself free from anxiety.
Notice everything you can in as much detail as possible.
Even if it's not true right now,
See yourself fully confident in your body.
Saying no when you need to say no,
And saying yes to good health and good choices.
See yourself saying yes to positive thoughts,
And saying no to negative ones and thoughts that bring you down.
If you can visualize yourself vibrant,
Happy,
Then it will become who you really are all the time.
Good.
Now visualize yourself standing in a big field and no one else is around.
Everything is calm and peaceful.
You are surrounded by nature.
Notice the beauty all around you.
Here you are fully relaxed.
In this visual,
We are going to face a very strong and powerful storm representing anxiety to make ourselves stronger within.
In the distance,
You see some clouds closing in as the sky grows a little darker.
A storm is forming and you feel some raindrops begin to fall.
Imagine that this storm represents your stress.
It could be a mild anxiety with just some rain and a little wind,
Or it could be a very high stress with extremely strong winds and a very heavy rain pouring down.
So as you feel the storm getting even stronger,
The wind is blowing harder.
You remain in the meadow,
Completely unfazed by it.
The storm cannot hurt you here,
Just as stress cannot hurt you.
You simply experience and observe it.
You have a choice to react to this storm of stress with fear or with love and compassion.
Know that this storm is harmless.
This is simply a visualization you are creating.
Anxiety is our reaction to fear,
Worry,
And even high demands.
Whether the fear is real or not,
It is best to learn the skillful reaction to all things.
Sometimes you feel out of control and anxiety will take over in a matter of seconds,
So we must properly handle it or it will handle us.
Just like sitting through the storm in the field,
Anxiety cannot harm you if you know that it eventually passes by.
What matters is your own reaction to the events around you.
Really embrace your anxiety right now and let it fully exist without fighting it.
You see the storm of anxiety is very dark.
The clouds are raining down with fury.
You decide to start slowly walking towards this storm and into it without fear,
Without worry.
Just pure confidence that you are completely safe and in control.
You get closer and closer to the most strong part of the storm.
The winds blow at tremendous speeds,
Yet the rain and the wind have no effect on you.
It is really easy for you to step forward into the wind.
Only your clothes are flapping in the high winds.
As you look forward,
You see the eye of the storm.
And around that eye,
The winds and the rains are extremely powerful and strong.
Yet you have zero worry as you step inside of this eye.
You are standing now inside this center and everything is calm and peaceful here.
You look around from within the eye of the storm and can see all the chaos around you.
But inside,
It is calm and bright.
This is your safe spot.
This is your space where you can ride out stress.
So when you find that anxiety has fully taken over you,
You have a choice to let it blow over without a fight.
Just sitting right in the middle of it,
Realizing that it cannot hurt you as you wait for it to pass.
Witness your body is your center,
The eye of the storm,
And any stress is just a storm surrounding you that comes and goes.
You are in control and you can always come back to your safe space.
Now you feel the storm is losing its power.
Dying down,
The rain is easing up.
You can see the clouds drifting away as the sky gets brighter.
The sunlight peeks through the clouds and the clouds are getting brighter.
The sunlight peeks through the clouds,
Then eventually comes out with great intensity,
Shining a brilliant light all around you.
The anxiety has passed.
Everything is beautiful now.
This moment represents you being in a confident state of mind where stress had no control of you as it passed you by.
You made it through anxiety.
Very good.
Use this session or technique whenever you find yourself in a high anxiety situation.
Imagine the storm passing by and you will be amazed at how you can ride out the storm of stress.
Whenever you are ready,
Open your eyes,
Feeling powerful and ready to take on life's challenges.

Wow! This was exactly what I needed. I was feeling overwhelmed when I began to listen. The words and music washed over me and the stress began to clear enough so that I could gain control over my reaction and ease the sense of panic I was feeling. The words resonated so strongly with me. Powerful. Thank you!
