Upon the request of a student who was recently detected with stage 4 cancer, Jay created this series for anyone dealing with terminal illness or chronic pain. Pain is inevitable in life. Suffering is optional. In this profoundly gentle practice, Jay leads us through a series of calming and inspiring guided affirmations where we learn to build our self confidence and feel a sense of lightness, ease and presence. In the course of 7 days, Jay will lead us each day, through a series of guided imagery that will decouple the pain from suffering. Throughout this process, it is hoped that it will give you some relief and assist in healing the body.

Talking about fond memories can help affirm that your life mattered and that you will be remembered.

Consider sharing a few peak memories with someone today.

If possible,

Record your conversations as a way of honoring the memory.

Today's meditation is an affirming that this is my costume.

Start by noticing.

I am not in pain.

My body may be.

I am not my body.

My true identity is a point of consciousness.

The body that surrounds me is the costume.

I am a spark of energy.

And according to the law of thermodynamics,

Energy is neither created nor destroyed.

That means I do not have a beginning or an end.

I simply travel through time.

Changing costumes along the way.

I,

The eternal being,

Cannot be killed,

Burned,

Cut.

This helps me alter my perspective as I live with chronic pain. My body is experiencing pain. That separation of me from my body is very helpful. Thank you.

These can be a little more generalized for people in chronic pain not just those who are dying. The situation applies. I listen to them because I have chronic pain. Very good though. Thank you!

I'm hurting so bad on this day of Thanksgiving. Will have to accept and redefine what joys means for me in these circumstances. I am grateful to be alive with friends and family to experience the holiday with. Happy Thanksgiving everyone๐Ÿ™
