Let's get ready for bed now.

I will give you a few moments to get settled in.

Okay,

Now that you're settled in bed and comfortable,

Let's take a few deep breaths right now.

So take a big deep breath in,

Hold it,

And now let it out with a big deep sigh.

Again,

A big deep breath in,

Hold it,

And again let it out with a big deep sigh.

One more time,

And this time let's take the biggest breath in that we've taken so far.

Hold it,

And now the biggest sigh out that you can.

Let's relax your whole body now.

So start with relaxing your face and your throat.

Just breathe and feel everything just letting go.

As you breathe,

You feel your chest,

Arms,

And your back feeling really comfortable now.

Relax your belly and your hips and your legs all the way down to your toes.

Just relax.

Good.

Now just close your eyes and let everything go that happened today.

Relax.

Just snuggle in your bed with your eyes closed and listen to my voice.

We're going to take a journey with my friend Ruby.

Perhaps you've met Ruby in our first journey together.

If not,

I know you are going to love her as much as I do and so many other people and animals.

Ruby is a beautiful red fox that has fur as soft as silk and beautiful brown eyes that look like chocolate and they just make you smile.

You will instantly want to be her friend too.

She has so many human friends and all kinds of other animal friends.

Ruby asked me if you would like to go and meet some of her friends.

Would you like to go with us now?

Okay.

Then relax and let Ruby and I take you on a journey to meet her friends.

Close your eyes.

Now imagine you're walking down a beautiful forest path with Ruby and me.

We are always safe with Ruby.

She protects all of her friends.

It's nighttime but the stars are so bright it is lighting up everything around us.

The path is perfectly lit up for us to walk down.

The big full moon is overhead and you can see she is smiling down at us.

She is so beautiful.

You hear some of the animals calling out to each other because they see their good friend Ruby coming down the path.

As we walk a bit further with Ruby you see a clearing ahead in the forest and you hear a trickling waterfall that's in a beautiful clear pond.

Ruby wants to relax next to the pond with you and her friends.

So you find a place to sit with Ruby next to the pond and the beautiful waterfall.

The moon's reflection is so bright in the pond that you can see all around you as you sit next to Ruby.

It's a wonderful summer night and the crickets are singing for all to hear.

It is so peaceful and calming to hear their sounds.

As you sit with Ruby more of her friends come out of the forest to join you.

First the frogs start to come out of the pond making their sounds.

Then a family of squirrels and then rabbits and raccoons join in around the pond.

And a few minutes later a family of beavers and then bears and even a family of moose find places around the pond to visit with you and Ruby.

It is such a wonderful sight to see so many animals together and sharing time together.

They are so happy to see each other.

The songbirds and the owls and the trees are greeting Ruby with their sweet sounds as well.

All the animals and birds greet Ruby with loving kindness and they are all so grateful to see her.

She in return lets them know how thankful she is to share time with all of them.

You can see that Ruby is feeling so blessed to have so many of her friends together at one time.

And she is especially grateful that you are joining her on this special night.

Then the biggest surprise of all Ruby's family came out of the forest to greet her.

All of the animals are so excited to see them.

Her cubs come running over to her and snuggle Ruby.

Their names are Riley and Ruth.

They are about a year old and they love to play.

Some of the other young animals came over to show Riley and Ruth how happy they were to see them.

They romp and play together for a while before Ruby has everyone settle back down alongside the pond.

Riley and Ruth's grandmother,

Rose,

Brought them to the pond so they could enjoy the gathering of all their friends as well.

Rose gathered them up and brought them next to you and Ruby to sit and relax.

Ruby called this gathering tonight with all of her friends because she wants to introduce you to them.

Ruby then told everyone how pleased she was to have a new friend with her tonight and that new friend is you.

All the animals cheered and eagerly welcomed you to their family.

Now it's time to sit and enjoy the nighttime sounds and give gratitude for this beautiful night with all your new friends.

As you and all your friends sit by the pond,

You notice the moon's reflection and just then a shooting star goes soaring through the sky.

As you look back at the pond,

You see the reflection of the constellation called Orion's Belt.

Do you know what a constellation is?

Constellation is a group of stars that make imaginary shape in the night sky.

They are usually named after legendary characters,

People,

Animals,

Or objects.

In different parts of the world,

People have made up different shapes of the same groups of different stars.

It's like a game of connect the dots.

Now it's time to just relax.

All the animals in you are so relaxed with the sounds of the crickets and the tree frogs.

Ruby tells all her friends to settle down now and enjoy the reflection in the pond of the beautiful full moon and Orion's Belt.

Ruby lets them know that she will be there all night to protect them and you.

So just rest now.

Sleep.

Just rest.

Sleep.

Sleep.

Sleep.

Sleep.

Sleep.

Sleep.

Sleep.

Sleep.

I’m 63 years old Irene but I still enjoyed the heck out of going into the woods with Ruby and meeting her friends! Who says children’s meditations need to be for children only? There’s still some child in all of us isn’t there? Thanks so much! 🙏🏻💕🧘🏼‍♂️💕🙏🏻
