This is a guided meditation for total body and mind relaxation. It will take you on a journey where you can lose your busy mind chatter and recharge yourself.

Transcript

Find a quiet place to sit or lie down.

This is your time,

So turn your phone off,

Light a soothing candle or incense and relax.

A time for total relaxation and inner stillness.

Now take a moment to make sure that you are warm enough and close your eyes.

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

Hold it for a moment.

And now slowly exhale.

Allow any tension to melt away as you gradually relax more and more deeply with each breath.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Take another deep breath in.

Hold it for a moment.

And then let it go.

You can already feel yourself drifting into a state of deep relaxation.

Continue to breathe slowly and gently as you bring your awareness to the top of your head.

Allow your eyelids to close now.

Let your cheeks and your jaw soften,

Releasing all tension.

And breathe.

Now let this peaceful feeling flow down to your neck.

With each breath you take,

This relaxing feeling becomes deeper and deeper.

It works its way deep into the muscles of your shoulders and your arms.

You easily let go of any worries or stress you may be feeling.

As your body relaxes,

Your mind becomes calm and free of thoughts.

You are slipping further and further into a dreamlike state of stillness and relaxation.

Now relax your chest and your abdomen and feel the gentle rise and fall of your body as you breathe.

Feel this relaxing sensation flow all the way down your spine.

Now as it gradually works its way all down your body,

You feel your entire upper body has become relaxed and calm.

Breathe.

Now feel your hips relax as a calm and peaceful feeling starts to work its way through your lower body.

Relax your hips and your thighs and they become more relaxed with each passing moment.

Your knees,

Calves,

Ankles and feet are all feeling the soothing sensations of letting go of all of the tension in these areas.

Allow your entire body to relax completely.

And now it's time to leave the outside world and go on an inner journey.

A journey to a place of deep inner stillness.

Imagine that you are standing on a white sandy beach and it's early in the morning.

You can see the sun now rising slowly over the ocean water and you feel the warmth from the first rays of golden sunlight on your face and body.

You feel relaxed and content now.

Breathe.

The white sand beneath your bare feet is so soft and warm and you can smell the salt water in the air.

You have the beach all to yourself and nowhere that you need to go except here.

Listen to the calming sounds of the ocean.

The waves are gently rolling up the shore.

You can hear a few seagulls off in the distance.

Begin to walk slowly towards the water.

You see a small boat is waiting for you.

The boat is comfortable and sturdy.

You notice that it is tied to the shore with a strong,

Secure rope.

Coming to the water's edge,

You step into the boat and automatically feel peaceful,

Safe and completely at ease.

Now when you are ready,

Untie the rope and let it go.

Relax and allow the natural currents of the ocean to guide you away from the beach.

Your boat drifts smoothly.

It rocks ever so gently in the water.

This rocking motion relaxes you even more deeply.

The sapphire blue ocean water surrounds you on all sides and in front of you,

A small island comes into view.

Your boat moves closer and closer to the island,

Gliding slowly and smoothly through the water.

The island is drenched in golden sunlight and covered in lush tropical palm trees that sway gently in the breeze.

Your boat glides slowly forward and comes to rest on the shore.

You have arrived.

Now step out of the boat and take a moment to appreciate all of the beauty surrounding you.

You hear the exotic birds singing in the trees and see all the beautiful colored flowers growing in abundance.

You can hear the soothing sound of the wind as it passes through the trees.

In this place,

You are free from all memories of your past and you are free from all concerns about your future.

This is a place of total tranquility and it is all yours.

You notice an opening between the palm trees.

In the center of this opening,

There is a narrow path that leads you deep into a rich green forest.

Begin your journey into the heart of the forest and follow the path as it meanders between columns of ancient trees.

This forest seems familiar to you,

Like the memory of a pleasant dream or a place you visited as a child.

Walk deeper into the lush green forest.

You are guided by an energy that you trust and it makes you feel safe and nurtured and calm.

You have reached the very heart of the forest.

Before you is a sparkling pond of crystal clear water,

A pond of perfect stillness.

The pond is round and it brims with pure spring water.

Notice that the water is perfectly still,

Like a mirror,

Free from even the slightest ripple.

A ladder with three steps leads down into the water.

You decide to bathe in this magical pond and you undress.

As you take the first step down into the pond,

You notice that the wind has eased.

All the trees have become motionless.

As each moment passes,

The world around you becomes more and more calm.

As you lower yourself onto the second step,

All the birds in the forest become quiet.

And now,

Lower yourself onto the third and final step and slide into the calm water.

Feel yourself drifting into a deep state of relaxation.

In this pond,

Your thoughts simply melt away.

All is still and silent.

The only sound that remains is the sound of waves far off in the distance.

For the next few minutes,

Enjoy this experience of solitude and inner silence.

When thoughts arise,

Simply let them go and return to your awareness to the sound of the waves.

When it's time to return,

I will guide you home.

California Springs National Park Slowly bring your awareness back to the pond.

You are deeply relaxed and refreshed.

Now it's time to make your way back home.

Slowly begin to climb the ladder.

As your foot touches the lowest rung,

Notice how wonderful your body feels.

You feel light,

Alive and energetic.

As you step up to the second rung,

You hear the sound of birds singing again.

Now step up to the first rung on the ladder.

As your foot touches the step,

You hear the breeze in the trees again.

It's time to dress yourself and follow the path back to your boat.

As you arrive back at the entrance to the forest,

You see your boat is waiting for you right where you left it.

Now walk to the water's edge and climb into the boat.

You feel so relaxed and safe and you know that your boat will bring you home safely.

Your journey is smooth and calm,

Like all the moments in your life,

Smooth and calm.

Relax and allow the current to guide you home.

You arrive at the beach.

Step out of the boat and onto the sand.

You are home.

Now slowly become aware of the room around you as you start to wiggle your toes and fingers.

When you are ready,

Open your eyes.
