Welcome to this pranayama and meditation practice.
This practice is designed to increase energy and vitality in your body.
Perfect for doing in the morning or any point throughout the day when you need a little bit of a boost.
We're gonna use brahmana pranayama,
Or brahmana breathing,
Which is longer inhales and shorter exhales.
By taking in more air,
More energy,
More prana,
It will help give you that little bit of waking up,
That little bit of lift that you may need.
For this practice,
I encourage you to sit up.
Have your sits bones rooted into the ground and a very long spine.
You can sit on blocks or cushions or a blanket.
Having your hips a little bit higher than your knees can allow your spine to lengthen more.
And release any tension in the hips or lower back.
So take a few moments,
Find that long spine,
Find that seated position.
Now pause here and check in.
How are you feeling right now?
How is the energy in the body?
What's going on in your mind.
How's the quality of your breath?
And this check-in isn't to label or judge.
This check-in is just to see exactly where you are.
Resisting the urge to change anything or just accepting where we're starting from.
So take a moment.
Be with yourself.
And let's begin.
Ensuring your spine is long,
Shoulders are relaxed,
Hands in your lap.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
And exhale out of your mouth.
One more of those deep breaths in through your nose.
And exhale out of your mouth.
Now closing your lips,
We'll take a slow inhale.
Shorter exhale,
Close the lips just out of the nose.
Hold the breath.
Inhale nose.
Exhale,
Nose.
Hold the breath.
Inhale nose.

Exhale out of the mouth.
Inhale 1 3rd,
1 3rd all the way up.

Find a comfortable rhythm to your breath and pause in stillness.
Notice your energy,
Notice if anything is shifting.
And preparing to go through that one more time.
So ensure that you're still sitting up nice and tall,
The body feels comfortable.
Spine is long.
Crown of the head reaching to the sky,
Sit bones rooting to the ground,
Shoulders and arms,
Legs relaxed.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Exhale out of your mouth.

Find rhythm to your breath.
Comfort.
Stillness.
Notice your energy.
Check in with your cell.
How are you feeling right now?
Has anything changed from the beginning of practice?
What has stayed the same.
Just a gentle awareness,
Loving kindness for yourself to notice how you are.
And then to close this practice,
We'll bring the hands together,
Rubbing the hands together to create a little bit of heat,
A little bit more energy.
And then with those warm palms,
Reach up to the sky,
Look up,
Wiggle your fingers,
Get really long through your torso,
Take a big long inhale.
And exhale,
Bring your hands to heart.
Thank you,
My friends.
I hope you have a beautiful and energized rest of your day.
