This beautiful practice is the first in a 9 part series of meditations travelling through your inner energies.A personal journey has allowed me to write the material for this series starting with 'Returning to the Light' a place I thought,at one point I would never get to.The meditation is to remind us of the powerful connection we can have during this transition, and how connecting with the light helps to eliminate self-doubt and to remind us how far we have come.

Returning to the light.

We have been given this beautiful light that surrounds us and protects us.

Yet we still allow darkness to consume us from time to time.

This is life.

This is nature.

This is honesty.

And I want to take this opportunity to tell you that you are not alone.

The universe naturally corrects itself when there has been a period of darkness.

And we as humans do the same through different experiences and stages in life.

Sometimes when we are in the dark we forget that light does follow.

That growth happens and a new chapter is waiting to begin.

In order to gain purpose and tread our correct path we will all need times of darkness.

As you give yourself time and space during this meditation,

Cast your mind through your journey.

Take notes of the times you have seen the light and I mean truly seen it.

Breathe deeper when you see those times and pause for a moment.

Then reward yourself with self-gratitude that you were able to experience any or all of them at all.

Now bring your awareness onto your breath and begin to open the airways throughout your body.

As you begin to engage with the natural flow,

Bring in the quality.

Keep the breath soft.

Keep the flow smooth.

And when you feel ready,

Lengthen the breath through your inner column.

Broaden your breath as you bring it up to exhale.

And gently release your breath and begin again.

When you feel connected to your breath,

Begin to connect to your mind.

And start to visualise a light above you,

Below you and surrounding your entire body.

You have journeyed through your darkness and now it is time for you to allow this light that surrounds you to travel through your physical,

Emotional and spiritual body.

Begin to awaken your physical body.

Take away any shields.

Unlock any doors.

Take down any walls.

And allow your inner energies to awaken.

When you feel ready,

Repeat these words in your mind.

I have lived through the darkness and I am still here.

I have survived the journey and now I am ready to welcome in the new light.

I am safe and I am protected.

Let these words flow around you and through you,

Allowing their vibrations to connect with yours.

Before any work can be done,

We must accept what has been.

Then when you are ready,

Let all the light surrounding you absorb into your subtle bodies.

Let it penetrate into your skin.

Allow your inner body to accept the light coming in.

And let it flow with all your bodily systems.

Let it weave in and out of your spinal column,

Covering every inch of you.

And when you feel that the light is in the depths of your being,

Take a moment to breathe.

And take a moment to enjoy returning to the light.

Let it flow with all your bodily systems.
