As we begin this meditation to wash away our worries,
Let's start by visualising a beautiful lake.
It can be a lake you have visited before or from your own imagination.
Try not to give your mind's eye too much detail,
Just focus on the lake.
The water is still,
The air is quiet,
You are alone with your thoughts and are surrounded by peace.
You are ready to release your worries and your lake is ready to receive them.
Take a few moments to think about some of your biggest worries,
The constant ones,
The reoccurring ones.
Try and focus your mind on just one,
Even if there is many.
If needs be,
Create a worry list in your mind and prioritise them.
Now bring your awareness to your hands and visually place your first worry into them.
Feel the weight of the worry,
Then gently step forwards and slowly stoop towards the edge of the lake.
When your hands are near the water,
Submerge them fully.
Let the water of the lake connect with your worry and then watch it drift away.
As it drifts further and further away from you,
Let this worry become less and less.
If after doing this you still feel a presence of any doubt,
Submerge your hands again.
And if you feel you have the energy to release more than one worry,
Repeat.
When you have finished,
Slowly turn away from the lake,
Where you find a beautiful mat full of colours and patterns.
The mat has your name woven into it and a soft pillow to rest your head,
Perfectly placed and ready for you to lie down.
Take this time to enjoy the peace within your mind now you have started to release your worries and the comfort in your body now tensions are starting to fade.
Take some deep breaths in,
Exhale slowly and enjoy.
