Thank you for joining me.
And in this session,
We're just going to really learn about how we can connect to ourselves,
Which is a really powerful exercise that you can do about your day.
And what I've found when people have started to use this is they're starting to be more aware of how their body is responding with things that are happening through the day,
Which allows them to connect and take action from there as well.
And so,
Instead of going through a full day where you might have been really unconscious about things that are happening to your body,
By spending time and doing the simple practice will allow you to be more healthy,
You'll notice a shift in your well-being.
And you'll feel more energy through your day as well.
And so,
It's a simple practice of just taking a conscious breath.
And that means just focusing simply on your breath coming into your body.
Maybe even just taking a few breaths.
And this is that can really important to do this just by yourself at first.
And then it can be a good way of practicing through your day.
So really focusing on that breath coming into your body,
Following that path of the breath coming into your body,
Which starts to move you from your mind and to gain that greater awareness of connection to your body,
Reconnect to your body.
And do this a few times until you feel that mind starting to be more settled and quiet.
It can only take for some people can only take a few seconds or it might take a few minutes,
No judgment,
But just whatever needs to happen.
It's all really nurturing for you.
And then as you feel the mind soften,
Just placing your left hand onto your chest,
Right hand onto your belly,
If that feels good for you.
Just really spreading your fingers across your body and placing your awareness there of what your body is doing.
And even this act alone can be so life-changing.
You might even notice that your breathing has changed.
So something might have happened in your day.
And when you connect to yourself,
You might even notice that your breathing has changed as you connect with your body.
There's different types of breathing that we do,
Freeze breathing,
Shallow breathing.
And so from here,
As you notice that,
Without any judgment,
I mean,
It's a real gift that you can come and take the space to connect to yourself without leaving it for a day or a few days or weeks,
For some people even years.
And so as you do this,
Making those adjustments from there.
So as I feel my breathing is really stiff,
I might even start to make more conscious breaths,
Feeling that belly rise,
Taking big inhales,
Feeling that belly rise roughly around 70% into your belly and then the rest into your chest.
And then just releasing from there.
So taking some conscious breaths,
Which will be life-changing as you oxygenate all your cells,
Nourishing your organs and relaxing your nervous system with that act alone from there.
As you place your awareness on your body,
You might even feel stiffness and tightness.
You might be holding your belly and stomach,
Shoulders might be crunched up.
So with the out-breath starting to release different areas of your body,
As you place that awareness onto your body,
Relaxing those shoulders,
The jaw,
Relaxing your belly,
Just releasing tension again.
As you do that,
Allowing yourself to feel the difference within your body as it's relaxed.
And that again,
Releases the kind of trauma response from our body as well.
Trauma can be any type of event that happens in our day.
Even busyness can be trauma.
So,
Yes,
Allowing yourself to relax and to feel that tension.
And release and relax as you place your awareness there.
You might find as you connect with your body,
It's really difficult and challenging.
And so you might be finding,
Oh,
My head's really busy right now.
My thoughts are going wild.
So really focusing on that out-breath and allowing the thoughts to drop in their own time without any judgment,
Dropping frustration even,
And allowing the thoughts to drop in their own time without any judgment,
Dropping frustration even.
Want to take a few breaths,
Even slow breaths out through your mouth as you release tension and stress and even those thoughts,
Emotions like frustration and even anger and busyness.
Just some real slow breaths out,
Blowing out through your mouth like you're blowing out a candle.
And taking as many breaths as you need to there until you feel whatever it is,
It's kind of starting to be released and kind of a sense of kind of letting go.
And so just even here,
Just with those positions there,
The simple act can make such a difference.
Simple check-in with yourself.
And then from there,
You can lower your hands when you're ready in your own time.
You might want to cycle through some of the different things there.
And then just connect it back with yourself again.
What do you observe?
And how does that feel now,
Your body?
And what's the need that you're meeting,
That you're really wanting for yourself?
And the really important one there,
What's the action that you're going to take for yourself from here?
Maybe it's connecting a little bit more with yourself,
Taking some conscious breaths,
Taking some time out,
Being more aware of relaxing the shoulders or different parts of your body.
And it'll really help you to be more conscious about your breath as well,
Which we know changes down to cell level as you breathe more consciously.
And also all of your organs and pH level within your body neutralize and get massaged and all the nutrients that they need when you breathe properly as well.
So a simple exercise,
Really invite you to do that in your own time and space,
Create some space through the day and give yourself maybe even a week where you try this for a week and just see what changes this does for you.
As you connect with yourself,
What do you start to notice?
Is there more ease and peace as you connect with yourself and meet your needs?

Well-being and vitality and more energy as you become more conscious about yourself.

A few breaths,
A few minutes each time you connect with yourself.
