This recording was designed to capture the moment when depressive thoughts appear in your head to guide them through and come back to the state of non-depressive self. It was shown that negative automatic thoughts are linked to low mindfulness (Ayhan & Kavak Budak, 2021), hence the stronger the ability to immerse yourself in now, the less depressive thoughts.

Your head is likely to be full of depressive thoughts,

Repeating over and over again how hopeless or helpless life is,

That there is no way out.

If you're here,

Your head is likely to be full of depressive thoughts,

Repeating over and over again how hopeless or helpless life is,

That there is no way out.

It's overwhelming.

Something or someone triggered a part of you that once lost all hope and found itself in a dark shed with no doors or windows.

It's lonely.

You may find yourself disconnected from your body,

Feeling numb,

Empty,

Frozen in time.

I'm with you in search of that place within that holds the depressive state.

Is it in your head?

In your throat?

In your chest?

In your heart?

In your stomach?

It's neither angry nor sad.

Together,

Let's breathe in and out to make more space and listen to your body.

Is there a sigh?

Is there a cry?

Is there a sigh?

I hear the world that is hard to change.

People around may stay the same.

There may be limited opportunities.

And I see you,

Right here,

Right now,

Noticing those thoughts,

Embracing the state,

Choosing self-care.

A moment to appreciate the time and effort you've put in.
