Immerse yourself into your inner world to strengthen acceptance of your being. This mental hygiene recording brings stillness to all that you think, sense and feel. It is tolerance to experiences that humans can exercise to improve mental health. Research looking into sensory processing sensitivity shows that attention awareness and conscious presence are at heart of mental resilience (Gulla & Golonka, 2021). The recording has been inspired by a therapy technique that is used in Brainspotting.

Transcript

We are here to strengthen the connection with your inner world for mental hygiene.

Check the position you have chosen.

Scan your body in search of the calmest place within,

From the top of your head,

Through your throat,

Shoulders and arms,

Chest and upper back,

Lower back and stomach,

Pelvis,

Legs and feet.

Let your eyes rest in one spot within the calm place,

Looking gently ahead or with eyes closed.

It will be a doorway to your inner world that we will hold together to create calm energy.

Breathing in stillness,

Notice what comes up for you right now.

Let it flow like a river.

How is your body reacting?

Feel the sensations.

Are there any emotion words?

Whatever you've noticed,

Sensed and felt is neither good or bad,

It's justness.

Bring your awareness to what supports your feet,

Bottom or shoulders.

Come back with a sigh when ready.
