In today's short meditation,
We're going to work on letting go and trusting the universe as a way of starting our day.
But this is also a really powerful practice that you can come back to every day or all through the day in order to help solidify this practice as your own.
And so that you can start to walk through your day being able to let go and trust a little bit more each day.
So let's begin.
We're going to start by allowing our body to relax.
So let's take a deep breath in,
Inhale.
And exhale.
On your next breath in,
I want you to think about what it means to you to let go.
So inhale.
Letting go a little bit more as you exhale.
And let's do that again,
Letting go even more as you exhale this last time.
So inhale.
And exhale.
Letting it all go.
What does it mean to let go?
For some of us,
It may mean to let go of attachment.
Often we're attached to a particular outcome.
We may become extremely emotionally invested in whether something goes our way or the other way.
We feel that the only way we can feel okay is if things go our way.
But that feeling of being tied to a particular outcome means that the circumstances have power over us.
So the way to reclaim our power.
Is to decide.
That we're gonna feel okay.
No matter what.
And we can do that with detachment.
So let's try this with a short visualization.
I invite you to imagine that you're in a beautiful park.
The sun is shining,
The trees are stunning.
There's a gentle breeze in the air.
And as you look ahead in the distance,
You see a large lake out in front of you.
You're going to walk to the lake.
But before you do,
You need to pick up a boulder that's sitting beside you.
It's the largest rock that you could imagine physically being able to carry.
And you pick it up.
And it's really heavy.
Now,
You start walking.
The rock is so heavy that you're walking at a slower pace than you normally would.
It's so heavy.
You're starting to get annoyed at the fact that you're carrying this ridiculously heavy rock.
The weight of it is almost more than you can bear,
But you trudge ahead anyway.
What does it feel like to walk with a giant boulder in your arms?
If I told you,
You needed to walk to the edge of the water still carrying that giant boulder.
And it was a kilometer away,
A mile away.
Could you do it?
Would you do it?
I want you to imagine taking 10 more steps forward.
And try to imagine the weight of this boulder and what a strain it is physically and maybe also mentally.
So imagine taking three more steps.
3 two,
One.
Hold the Rock.
On the ride.
Now safely.
And gently.
Let it go.
How does it feel to not have to carry that enormous boulder anymore?
Do you feel lighter?
Is it easier?
Do you feel more free?
We carry all kinds of things with us.
Obligations,
Dress.
Fear,
Worry.
Insecurity.
We carry these things willingly.
We keep looking up ahead,
Like the lake in our visualization.
We think if we can just get there,
Then we'll be happy.
If we can just get to the lake,
Then we'll be free,
And then everything will be okay.
But the truth is that you can be free and everything can be okay right here.
If you can just let go of what's holding you back.
What is it that's weighing you down?
What if you could just let it go?
But we're afraid to let go because we think if we don't control everything then everything's going to fall apart.
But that's where trusting the universe comes into play.
Can you let go of your fear long enough to trust that the universe is ready,
Willing,
And able to support you in every moment that you let it?
Can you,
Just for today,
Let go and trust that the universe can take care of you in some small way.
Just today.
What might that look like?
Whether there's some small routine that you decide to change.
Or something you choose not to plan.
Or something you let someone else do for you.
What might that kind of letting go invite into your life?
I want to give you a few affirmations that may help you when you're in the middle of that scary feeling of actually letting go in the middle of the day.
We'll go through them together here,
And I invite you to say them with me,
Either silently or aloud.
Number one.
I choose to feel okay no matter what.
Number two,
When I let go,
I feel better.
3.
I'm willing to let life surprise me.
Number four.
The universe is ready,
Willing,
And able to support me.
And number five,
Today I'm trying trust.
Even in a small way.
And as we come to the end of this meditation,
I invite you to come back to these ideas every day,
Or if you like,
All through the day.
Thank you so much for taking the time to be here with me today.
I'm Ilya Grace,
And until next time,
Trust in your practice and in your own inner guidance,
And allow the universe to work its magic.
