Welcome to today's practice.
Before we begin today's meditation,
I want to talk about reclaiming your power.
So often we give our power away without even realizing it.
We let other people's actions,
Words,
Or opinions dictate how we feel.
But the reality is,
No one can control how you feel unless you let them.
Your power lies in your ability to choose,
To choose how you respond,
How you think,
And how you feel.
And when you reclaim that power,
You create freedom,
Peace,
And possibility in your life.
Today I'll guide you through a meditation to help take back your energy and reconnect with your inner wisdom.
So I invite you to settle into a comfortable position,
Whatever that looks like for you.
You can be seated or reclined.
Do what feels most comfortable so you can allow yourself to relax.
Relax your shoulders,
Your neck,
And try to release any tension you're feeling.
And close your eyes or allow your gaze to soften.
Let go of whatever's come before this moment and anything that's coming after as you gently ease into being here and now.
Try to bring your mind to a situation or a relationship where you feel you've been giving your power away.
Maybe it's someone else's opinion that's been weighing on you.
Maybe it's a situation that makes you feel small or stuck.
Whatever it is,
Acknowledge that this is how things have been going.
Try to look at it without judgment.
Just recognize that this is how things have been and acknowledge it.
And give yourself permission to let it go,
To change,
To allow yourself to feel better.
Imagine that this situation is like a cord of energy connecting you to that person or circumstance.
And instead of pulling that rope and fighting against the weight of that unhealthy or negative or draining circumstance,
Try to sit with a feeling of readiness to do something different.
Inside of you is untapped potential.
The potential to make any change you can imagine.
Imagine what it would feel like if this situation were resolved.
Imagine that the anxiety,
The tension,
The anger,
Fear,
Frustration,
Hopelessness,
Whatever it is you've been feeling,
All of that negativity is just gone.
You're free.
Feel the feeling of peace wash over you as you imagine what it feels like to be free.
Now let's go back to that scenario of you pulling on the rope.
The tension might start coming back,
Those old familiar feelings of discomfort.
Feel how much force it requires for you to pull against your uncomfortable situation.
And I invite you to visualize you're in a room with this rope,
Pulling on the rope,
But there's also a soft,
Comfortable mattress there that will break your fall when you land.
So imagine you're going to pull on the rope for the very last time.
So pull on that rope,
Feel those feelings of anger,
Despair,
Frustration,
Hopelessness,
All the negative feelings you feel when you feel tied to this person or to that circumstance.
And I want you to make the decision that you're going to let go.
I'm going to count back from three and you're going to drop the rope.
Feel that tension,
The anger,
Disappointment,
Grief,
Pain,
Whatever it is.
And in three,
Two,
One,
Drop the rope and let it go.
If you're imagining yourself falling to the floor,
There's that mattress there waiting to break your fall.
So as you land,
You'll land softly.
How does it feel to let go?
Sit with that for a moment.
What if you could carry that feeling with you from now on?
I want you to consider something that might not be easy at first,
But if you're willing to go there,
Freedom is waiting for you on the other side.
I want you to think about that difficult person or circumstance in your life and ask yourself this question honestly,
With an open heart and with the attitude of simply looking for a solution and with allowing yourself to feel better.
Could the reason you're feeling negative feelings about your situation be simply because of your need to pull on the rope?
What if you chose not to pull on the rope anymore?
What if you just decided to let it go?
When you're ready to let it all go,
That's when you reclaim your power.
The moment you stop pulling on the rope,
You're free.
And that freedom,
That's where your power lies.
I'd like to walk you through a few affirmations that help you feel the feelings of self-empowerment.
Feel free to say these either silently or aloud.
Number one,
I choose the thoughts I want to think.
Number two,
I respond with grace and clarity.
Number three,
When I reclaim my power,
I'm free.
Feel the truth of these words resonate with you as you allow them to sit with you in your own internal knowing.
Know that you're in control of how you feel.
No one else has the power to make you feel anything you don't want to feel,
Unless you allow it.
I invite you to carry the feeling of freedom and empowerment with you all through the day.
Remember,
You're the only one who can decide how you feel.
Trust that the universe is conspiring to bring you everything you could ever want in every moment that you let it.
