Today we're going to let go of the inner conflict that sometimes takes us over when we think about wanting more.
We're going to let go of that outdated story about it being selfish to want things for ourselves.
And we're going to step into our inner knowing that recognizes and truly knows that it's okay to want the things we want.
So let's begin.
Start by relaxing your shoulders and see if you can bring your body into a state of total relaxation.
And inhale.
And exhale.
When I say it's okay to want more,
What feelings come up for you?
Sometimes,
As we grow up,
We latch onto the idea that because giving is generous,
Kind,
Or even honorable,
We take on this narrative that wanting more for ourselves is selfish,
Or unkind,
Or bad in some way.
But what if that's just a story we've been repeating in our mind for a little too long?
What if the truth is that our getting all that we could ever ask for doesn't take away from anyone else?
There's an argument in our head that goes something like this.
If I get more,
Someone else is going to get less.
But I want to illustrate that life doesn't work this way.
Take a moment to visualize this story about apples.
What if you took all of the apples you could gather from an apple tree?
Every last one of them.
There would still be more apples that someone else could enjoy from another tree.
But let's imagine you were to take every last apple from every single tree all over the planet so that you would have all of the apples on earth in your giant apple storehouse.
Next year,
There would still be more apples.
Because the trees you took them from would again bear fruit and there would be an abundance of apples once again.
And even if you were to take all the apples year after year after year,
There would still be peaches or pears or plums.
Or cherries or plenty of other fruits and vegetables and beans and peas and rice and all kinds of foods for everyone else to enjoy.
Abundance is a universal law.
Nature is overflowing with abundance.
You're allowed to want an overflowing amount of apples.
Think of what you could do with all those apples.
Maybe you'd turn them into apple pies,
Or apple cider,
Or apple butter,
Candy apples,
Or apple crisp for other people to enjoy.
You're allowed to want what you want.
What would happen if you got it?
What would it be like if you got what you wanted?
Having more doesn't change you,
It gives you the opportunity to be more you.
What would more you look like?
What more could you do?
What would that version of you feel like?
Wanting more helps us expand into the version of us that we're becoming.
Wanting more allows us to be more.
Wanting more is completely natural and it opens the path to becoming more.
So let's sit with these feelings of more with a few affirmations.
Number one,
I'm allowed to want the things I want.
Number two,
Believing I deserve more is the path to becoming more.
3.
Wanting more doesn't take anything away from anyone else.
4.
The world is overflowing in abundance.
And five,
Having more allows me to do and be and enjoy even more.
Thank you so much for taking the time to be here with me today.
