We are sitting nice and tall,
Alert and awake.
Our eyes are softly closed,
Not squeezed,
Not scrunched.
We are allowing this free flow of breath as your neck and spine are aligned.
If you are sitting nice and tall on a chair,
Allow your feet to be firmly grounded,
Connected to Mother Earth.
We are simply sitting on our sit bones,
Shoulders relaxed back and down.
Unclench your teeth,
Relax your jaws and bring a beautiful smile to yourself.
Take it lightly.
Right now we are entering into the role of being a meditator.
So to be efficient at that,
Give a beautiful smile to yourself as a meditator.
Let go of any judgement,
Analysis.
So let's gently bring right hand on to the chest,
Left hand below and around our navel.
And gently awareness from your smile to your breath as you inhale to let your belly rise.
And as you exhale,
Let your belly go in.
Exhaling and exhaling at your own pace,
At your own comfort.
So today we want to bring into awareness the Patanjali Sutta,
Chit Vritti Nirod,
Meaning to stand still.
It's not controlling,
It's not suppressing,
But allowing it to stand still,
Nirod.
What?
To stand still the vrittis.
Vrittis are the movement,
Movement of consciousness.
And in the chit,
Chit is where all our memories are stored.
So if we can stand still that movements,
The vrittis in our chit.
Meditation happens.
Yoga happens.
Yoga is union of mind,
Body and soul.
So continue with your breath,
Effortless,
Flawless,
Long and smooth.
Allow yourself to connect with the body,
With the sense of touch of your palms.
Sense of touch between your eyelids.
Sense of touch with your feet and mother earth.
Sense of touch of breath around your nostrils as you are inhaling,
Exhaling.
And gently connect your awareness with your breath.
As you are inhaling follow your breath.
As you are exhaling follow your breath.
To connect with your soul ask yourself who is observing this breath?
Who is the seer of this breath which is going in and out?
As you gently bring both your palms back to your lap facing up,
Letting go of that deep long breathing.
Relax your shoulders back and down.
And today to understand the moment,
The vrittis which are nothing but our desires,
Our memories of past,
Fear of future,
Our judgement and analysis of ourselves,
Of others.
The constant information coming from the chitta with all the stored memories.
If we can stand still that then we allow our true nature,
Our divine self to manifest,
To shine through.
So today as I bring your awareness to our body,
To our trillions of cells,
To our breath,
Then you may ask who is observing that?
If your attention gets into an internal dialogue,
If your attention goes to any desires or worries or anxiety,
Then relate to it.
That it's just an information stored within you.
There is no original creative uniqueness to that thought.
Can you distance that?
Can you stand still that for allowing meditation and yoga to happen?
When we move,
Our mind moves.
When our mind moves,
We move and that's why in our meditation,
For the purpose of meditation,
It's very important to stay steady if possible.
And that's how we create the standstill of those vrittis,
Of those thought patterns,
The movement of the chitta.
So simply be as I guide you throughout.
Simply observe without getting involved,
Without getting into analysis and judgment.
Create that standstill of the vrittis.
Nothing is desired.
Nothing is wanted.
There's no fear.
There's no anxiety.
There's no past.
There's no future.
Believe me,
Just for the purpose of this meditation,
As you observe your awareness going to the crown of your head,
To your forehead,
Your eyebrows,
Softly closed eyes.
Chick bones,
Base of your nostrils.
For a few minutes,
Watch your breath going in and out.
Observing the breath in the present moment,
Without drifting into past or future,
Right here right now is a way to create Chit Vritti Nirod.
When we constantly are aware of our breath in the present moment,
We are free of past choices,
We are free of fear of future and we access the divine consciousness underneath this movements,
This vrittis of the mind.
We allow it to shine through.
Allow it to manifest,
Which in return brings this immense creativity,
Blissfulness,
Health,
Spirituality in your life.
If you can gently shift your awareness from the base of your nostrils to the center of your chin,
To the center of your throat.
Stay still observing this beautiful,
Clear,
Silent blue sky.
As you gently shift your awareness from your throat to your shoulders,
Down to your palms,
And gently back up to your shoulders,
To the center of your throat and settling at your heart center.
Simply be.
Be at your heart.
Simply be.
Stay still.
Stay steady.
Let go of any expectation,
Judgment,
Analysis,
Desires,
Hopes,
Fear,
Anxiety,
Just for the purpose of this meditation.
Stay still.
Nothing is wanted.
Nothing is desired.
Nothing is needed.
Simply be.
Simply be.
Stay still.
Stay still.
Stay still.
Stay still.
Stay still.
Stay still.
Stay still.
Stay still.
Stay still.
Stay still.
As we allow ourselves to create the standstillness in our root days,
In our desires,
In our desires,
From the memories of past,
Detaching from those choices we made in past,
Detaching from the experiences of our past,
Staying detached to the desires of the future,
Staying detached to the fears of the future.
We create this steadiness in our chitta which in return allows us to leave our life with full potential,
Avoiding the suffering caused by our mind.
The steadiness,
The narrow of the root days is important for meditation and yoga to happen,
To change the texture,
The quality of our consciousness.
But in the physical world we do need our desires to move,
To make a movement.
That we make these desires,
These intentions with choices when needed.
We become aware of our fear and anxieties,
Our future with awareness.
We start to become detached towards it and that's where we call it.
The steadiness narrowed off our root days to live this life with efficiency.
So let's gently intend to bring awareness in our daily life.
In our daily routine towards those movements,
The root days,
The desires,
Memories of the past,
Fear and anxiety of the future.
Bring awareness whenever possible and can you create steadiness for that moment?
Can you detach from that desire?
Can you detach from that past choices?
Can you detach from that fear of future?
Let's be in that moment.
Observe who is observing that.
Observe the calmness and the serenity that gets created through that.
Let's intend to do that.
Today in this process of bringing our awareness to Chitruthini Road.
We added one rooty,
One intention to observing that Chitruthini Road.
So be it.
Let's go ahead and gently for just a second hold your breath and know that when you are breathing,
When our breath moves,
Our mind moves.
That's why yogi controls their breath a lot because that helps them to control their mind.
But we could simply bring awareness to that moment whenever we can.
So let's again take nice couple of deep inhale and exhale out.
And let's gently bring both our palms together.
Go ahead and rub them.
Please sit down to your eyes and gently massaging from head to toe.
Awakening your five senses with a sense of touch,
Sound,
Sight,
Smell,
Taste to get back into this physical world and the physical activities gently.
Massaging our neck and throat,
Our shoulders and elbows,
Your wrists,
Especially your lower back.
Your legs,
Your knees,
Your ankles and gently back to your eyes and open your eyes when you feel comfortable.
And I thank you always,
Very grateful to be here.
Namaste.
I love the sound of your voice.
Me too.
You guys love it.
It's just so,
It's guiding and it's like learning.
Yeah.
I feel safe.
Yes.
Thank you.
I love you guys.
Thanks.
You
