Hi and welcome to your practice.
Find a comfortable seat in which the head rests above the spine and pelvis in an alignment that means there is no effort.
Feeling the steadiness support the softness.
Gently closing your eyes,
Or if that doesn't feel comfortable or safe,
Gazing down into your lap.
Having your palms wherever they want to rest.
Take a really big breath in through the nose.
Fill up as much as you can.
Hold for a moment.
Feel the fullness of your being and then let it all go.
As you anchor your awareness in any organic breath that wants to breathe you,
Begin to consciously let go of all distractions.
Returning to the stillness and the movement of your breath.
As you let go of conversations and people and places and things and all the ways in which your energy is leaking.
Anchoring in your breath and in your body and meeting the experience of this now moment.
Begin to turn towards what is.
Instead of focusing on where you may think you ought to be.
The continuous message we receive throughout our lives is that we are not enough in this now moment.
Or that where we are now is not enough.
Or that the moment itself is not enough.
So what would it be like to sit here and breathe and meet the experience and for that experience and for you in that experience to be enough just as it is.
If your mind is racing,
Your breath feels jagged,
Your body is uncomfortable could you still stay soft with that just as it is and just as you are.
Notice what's alive for you right now.
Notice what are you resisting.
And sense how not here is not a place we can ever get to.
For the next few breaths let's stop running from the present moment.
At the bottom of the disappointment of us being imperfect or messy or somehow not enough to human maybe,
Lays the gift of seeing yourself as pure life.
What would it be like to feel honored to sit in the presence of your imperfections.
To be full of curiosity towards the humanness of your experience.
Welcome yourself fully.
Welcome yourself fully.
And as you bring your palms to the heart,
Gently bow the head down.
Take a really deep breath in through the nose.
Empty out through the mouth.
And if these words resonate,
Repeat them to yourself out loud.
Please God,
Spirit,
Universe,
Replace that with whatever you believe in.
Please shatter all of my images of myself.
I am ready to meet myself fully.
Take a big breath in.
Exhale fully and completely.
Thank you for sharing your practice with me.
Namaste.
