Transcript
Hi,
Welcome to this shamanic journey guided meditation.
Before we start,
I will invite you to lay down.
This practice is best received when fully reclined,
Comfortable,
So that you can truly let your physical body go.
If you live somewhere that's a little bit cooler or if you have a tendency for your body temperature to drop,
I will also encourage you to grab a blanket or a throw so that while we practice,
You can simply receive being cozy,
Comfortable,
Resting.
So take a moment to set up in any way that feels good for you and in a way that feels supportive of truly diving deep into this process and allowing yourself to be guided as you have nothing else to worry about.
So in your comfortable supine position,
I invite you to place your hands anywhere on the body where they want to go and to make that decision intuitively from the inside.
So sometimes we feel that we have to place our hands maybe on the heart or maybe on the belly or maybe both or the hands have to be in a particular way.
So what would it be like to make this decision from inside of your body and to let yourself be guided to whichever place you want to connect with the most or maybe whichever place within you that is waiting to open up a little bit more.
And once you have found the position of your body that feels good,
Easy,
Restful,
Close your eyes and as you close your eyes take a big breath in through the nose.
With an exhale gently empty out through the mouth,
Allowing yourself to empty out of your day of the things,
Thoughts,
Activities still to come,
Conversations,
Narratives,
Experiences of the day,
But also consciously pulling your energies home to the center and hooking them from the people and places and conversations that they may still be attached to.
Bring all of your attention to come back to your center as your body gently drops down into the earth.
And as your body gently drops down into the earth,
Feel yourself deep in the breath.
The breath doesn't need to be anything in particular,
You can breathe in any way that feels good and organic and useful.
But allow there to be a nice soothing rhythm,
A rhythm that anchors all of your attention.
Suddenly this flow of each in-breath and out-breath is the most important thing that you care about,
Nothing else.
You're so fully enveloped by the rhythm of your own breath that your attention and awareness start to go inwards even more.
Your attention and awareness start to go inwards even more.
Let the body soften.
Let the body become heavier.
Let yourself start to melt beyond this most outer superficial physical layer of you.
And let there be a very soft permission to explore what's underneath the obvious,
What's underneath the superficial,
The physical.
And let there be a simple intention of taking a journey inwards.
Taking a journey to the deepest,
Most hidden terrains of our being,
To the places so rich in insight and guidance and messages already there embodied just waiting to be re-remembered,
Rediscovered.
So as your body is softly melting into the earth and as your breath smoothly and steadily moves in and out of the body,
Allow your vision space,
Your mind's eye to start opening up as you call in your favorite place in nature.
That place in nature that has such a powerful meaning for you,
That place that you know so well,
That you hold so dearly,
So close to your heart.
And allow yourself to walk around.
See through your vision space all the colors and textures,
All the plants and trees and animals that may be occupying it.
Maybe it's a forest or maybe it's a beach.
What are the smells?
What color is the sky?
What and who do you see as you let yourself walk around,
Taking it all in?
Now the power of our subconscious is that it doesn't know the difference between past,
Present,
Future,
Quote unquote real and quote unquote unreal.
And so you can let yourself be fully in this favorite most beloved place in nature by evoking every one of your senses to fully participate in this moment.
So what do you smell as you walk around?
And maybe you let yourself touch the textures of a plant or a tree bark.
And maybe as you look closely the sky is so vibrantly blue.
Maybe you lay on the earth,
On the sand,
In the water and just for a moment receive all the aliveness and magic and vitality of nature that this favorite most beloved place has for you,
That it pulsates with.
And with the next breath you suddenly start to look around a little bit more closely and notice that there is a tree you have never seen before in this place.
It looks ancient.
It has a huge trunk,
Massive branches reaching for the sky,
Small golden glittering leaves.
It would take 10 people to hug the trunk of this tree.
And with so much curiosity and playfulness and childlike inquisitiveness you start to walk towards this tree.
You're sure that it's never been here before.
And you can see that there is something very powerful about it.
And so you approach,
You touch the bark,
You smell the resin.
You walk around,
You make contact,
Maybe you say hi.
But when you get to the other side than the one you were approaching from you notice that there is a big hole in the trunk.
And that the hole in the trunk is big enough that you could easily fit your whole body in it.
And so you start realizing that it might be a portal,
That there might be something inside of there for you to explore.
And so are you ready to dive in?
See yourself climb into that trunk hole.
See yourself squeezing your whole body.
And once you do suddenly you are indeed in a tunnel and just like sliding down an incredibly huge and fast slide your whole body is starting to move downwards and downwards and downwards.
And eventually the tunnel ends and it spits you out.
So where are you?
And what do you see?
And as you pick yourself up you begin to explore,
You begin to walk around taking in the colors,
Taking in the textures,
Taking in all the sights.
Is this somewhere you are familiar with?
Have you been to this place before?
Or is this somewhere completely new,
Unexplored?
Maybe everything feels very familiar and known and safe.
Or maybe everything feels very new,
Very exciting,
Maybe sky is pink and the grass is blue.
And as you walk around you have this visceral sense that you are here to receive guidance,
That you've been brought to this special place to connect to someone or something who may have a message for you.
And so as you walk and look around and take in the smells and sights you suddenly choose to sit down,
Choosing to sit down and taking a deeper breath,
Allowing yourself to pause with that subtle knowing that there is someone or something that will approach you soon,
That you are here to receive this message.
And so you may notice that there is someone approaching.
And as they get closer and you get a good look,
Who is there with you?
Is it a human?
Is it an angelic being?
Is it an animal?
Is it someone or something you have never seen before?
A being of unidentified shape?
When you know someone you've never met before,
You invite them to sit next to you.
And for a moment there is this sweetness and this mystery of sharing space.
Maybe you say hi,
Maybe they put an arm around you if they have an arm.
And as you intently listen,
Maybe they have a message for you.
What do they say?
And in this welcome space of this deeply hidden realm,
If there is a question that you've been sitting with,
Maybe this is the moment to present it to this someone or something that came to support.
And so letting yourself be guided,
Be nourished,
Be held by these insights,
By the guidance,
Or maybe allowing this deeply hidden territory to hold you through any unanswered questions,
Any doubts.
But you know very well that this is not a place in which you can stay forever.
And so you and your guide start to get up and you start to walk.
And as you walk,
You once again take everything in,
The smells and the colors and the textures and the animals or plants or trees that may be there.
And suddenly you notice that the same huge tree through which you entered is here too.
That there is the same timeless gigantic trunk,
One so wise and so old,
With roots reaching deep into the heart of the earth.
And as you get closer to the tree,
Perhaps you may wish to say thank you to your guide.
Maybe to hug them,
Maybe to bow to them,
Maybe to shake their hand or a fin or a wing.
And as you approach the tree trunk,
You notice that same incision,
That same body size hole in the trunk is there.
And so you know that this is the entrance to the portal.
This is how you get back into the tunnel.
And so you do.
Feel yourself climbing into the tree trunk,
Diving into this portal.
Take the journey.
And suddenly you are being spat out right in the place where you started.
Your most beloved place in nature.
Is it any different?
Does it look exactly the same?
Let yourself walk around.
Let yourself feel this welcoming safety.
And the welcoming aliveness,
Purity and innocence of nature.
Just wanting to thrive.
Just wanting to nourish.
Just wanting for life to be living.
So as you take one last look around,
Soaking it all in,
Anchor your gaze on this ancient tree in front of you.
The wise one.
And as you do so,
Remember that this is your way of connecting with the deepest insights within you.
And this is the portal through which you can always travel to meet yourself.
To be with yourself.
To rediscover,
Re-remember the wisdom,
The highest insights that are already there.
Just waiting to be accessed.
And what would it be like to give yourself space to meet you in the most intimate way?
In these deeply buried,
Hidden terrains of you.
With the next breath,
Gently release your vision space.
And allow yourself to drop back into your body.
To feel the weight of your body resting on the earth.
Back in your room.
Back with your breath.
Supported from underneath.
Held from underneath.
Maybe wiggling your fingertips,
Your toes.
Simply in this physical embodiment,
In the physical realm.
And yet so acutely aware of the magic and the divinity and the mystery of the textures underneath the physical,
Underneath the superficial.
Having one last intentional breath and honoring these deeply buried,
Magical layers of who you really are.
And we give gratitude to the fact that this journey inwards is always available to us.
That the answers and insights and guidance are always there.
We just need to remember.
