Hi and welcome to your meditation practice.
This particular meditation is dedicated to anyone and everyone who identifies as a woman.
I invite you to either find a comfortable seat or to come to lay down.
And once you decide how you would like to enter into this practice,
Make yourself really comfortable.
Notice where your palms might be guided to.
Sometimes it may feel really good to land one of them on the energetic center of your womb,
A center that's active regardless whether the organ of the womb itself is there or not.
The other hand may want to travel to the heart,
Connecting the two.
For some of us it feels really good to have the hands on the knees,
To keep them in a lap.
Find your way,
Make it your practice.
And once you arrive,
Begin to scan your body really gently.
Scan your body with love,
With attention.
Scan it from the inside out.
And for so many of us to connect to our bodies with love feels quite unattainable.
We know it to be possible but we have never experienced it.
If that's where you are that's ok,
In which case just scan your body.
Let your body know I am here,
I am listening.
And I know that we have a challenging relationship but I would like to know what it is that you need.
Notice if any part of you starts to ask for your attention.
Every temperature shifts,
Textures,
Movements suddenly make themselves known.
A leg becomes really tense,
An arm begins to twitch,
A headache comes,
Butterflies in the belly.
Let your body know I hear you and see what happens to all the sensations that you acknowledge as you go.
Your body is a living consciousness,
It knows that you are relating to it.
So as you sit here or lay here and breathe and as you feel your hands making contact with your skin,
Allow yourself to yearn to want a relationship with your body that feels nourishing,
That feels wholesome,
That feels true.
Let that longing to reconnect with your body grow.
And if you notice that this intention stirs emotion,
Let them come.
Your emotions are welcome and they are valid.
If reconnecting to your body makes you angry or brings tears to your eyes,
This too is valid.
Let yourself re-remember what it is that you truly need,
What it is that your body truly needs from you.
Maybe for a moment you can reconnect with wonder,
With gratitude,
For being alive,
For the organs that serve you everyday in so many ways.
And as you keep turning your awareness towards your body,
Sense all the different pieces of you.
Yes,
The heart and yes the womb space,
But also your kidneys,
Your spleen,
Your lungs.
All the wondrous ways in which your body allows you to be in this realm,
On this earth,
In this lifetime.
Without your body you wouldn't be here.
And so for a moment to let go of the voices of all the things that you would like to be different,
The parts of you that you don't like so much,
The things that don't feel good or don't work so well,
The sickness,
The illness,
The injuries.
And for the next few breaths just let yourself celebrate what is there,
All the ways in which you often feel wholesome,
Feel connected,
Feel soft and strong at once.
Begin to consciously shower your body with love,
With appreciation.
Spread softness,
Spread care,
Meet your own needs for nourishment.
And no matter where your hands are currently,
Allow them to rest on the womb.
A womb is a powerful energetic center that doesn't have to just be connected to the organ itself.
Even if you had your womb removed or if you never had one,
You can evoke the energy of the center.
You can feel it in your body.
So let yourself recognize the sacredness,
The space of creation,
The creativity.
We often say that the womb is like the universe,
A dark field from which creation arises,
Life arises.
Maybe every month you go through a deep energetic purification through here.
Maybe this is a place where you have known trauma.
Maybe there have been surgeries or abortions,
Miscarriages,
Violence,
Abuse.
As women in our wombs we carry the entire lineages of the feminine pain,
The feminine wounding,
Centuries of painful experiences,
Misappropriation,
Shame and guilt.
So let yourself want to reconnect to the center,
To your own sacredness,
To your own power.
Let yourself step into that power by treating yourself with love,
With appreciation,
With gratitude.
Undoing the thousands of years of misappropriation of the feminine,
Of disempowerment of the feminine,
Feeling how strong you truly are and how that strength rests in your softness and how from within the space of your womb you can create anything you want.
Take a few final breaths here,
Each new inhale a possibility,
Each new exhale an emptying out that connects you to the Earth who's never not been here for us,
The one who knows the sacredness of the feminine,
The one who knows the power of creation.
Let her hold you.
Feel yourself,
I am here and the Earth supports me.
Take a big breath in through the nose,
Empty out through the mouth and whenever you feel ready maybe gently move,
Stretch,
Let your body guide you to what it needs next.
Thank you for sharing your practice with me.
Namaste.
