I'm going to give you the number one tip that will change your life and slowly adjust you from 80% stressful to 30% stressful.
We can't eliminate stress 100% from our lives because it's life.
However,
We can eliminate our reactions to it.
Now everybody says that we have to do this but who really gives you the answers of how?
Well,
Here we go.
Number one,
The ego.
Do you know what the ego is?
The ego is a protective mechanism that helps you either heal or avoid past trauma from reoccurring.
Trauma can be very mild,
Temporary incident or it could have been an ongoing incidences as a child or as an adult.
The ego also helps us get along in situations where we would normally not want to get along.
For instance,
Got to go to my sister-in-law's house for dinner,
Don't really get along with her but my husband wants to go because it's his family and I like his mother,
Etc.
So you go and the ego takes over in order for you to manage that without losing it on your sister-in-law's.
So the other aspect of the ego is not just I'm all that in a bag of chips.
That's an extreme ego,
False sense of confidence.
But the ego also tells us terrible things.
You can't do this.
This is not you.
Who do you think you are?
You're stupid.
You're not smart.
You won't succeed.
You're too scared.
You're frightened.
The ego is quite the trickster.
So here's the trick.
Here's the way to defeat the ego.
Look it in the face.
Say,
Hey,
Look at me,
Ego.
Is that you?
It is you.
Stand up for yourself.
Tell me it's you.
Don't hide.
Don't be in denial.
Don't run away.
Literally,
You can even give it a name.
So anytime you have a negative thought,
Is that ego?
That's all you have to say.
Hey,
Ego,
Is that you?
Yes.
Nobody likes me.
Ego,
Yes.
I don't like the way I look.
Ego,
Yeah,
That's me.
I don't think I'm going to get that job,
So I'm not going to bother applying.
Ego,
Yep.
I'm going to get up early,
But I don't know if I'll be able to work out.
Not sure if I'm in the mood.
Ego,
Yep.
What's wrong with you?
Why don't you get up early and go work out?
All in one breath,
Right?
We can say both of those together at the same time.
Ego,
Uh-huh.
So that's all you have to do,
Observation.
The double-slit theory,
It was an experiment that they did in the 40s and accidentally discovered that observation changes particles when they are being forced through two slits.
You can look it up.
So all you have to do is observe.
You don't have to do anything,
And just keep asking yourself,
Is that ego?
Is that you,
Ego?
Am I listening to my ego every time?
It's going to be yes.
Even if that person is a royal bleep-dee-dee-dee-dee,
And everyone clearly would say the same thing,
The fact that it bothers you and upsets you and ruffles your feathers,
And you go hours and days thinking about it,
Is that ego?
Yep.
That's all you have to do.
And the more that you recognize it,
The more that you face it,
The more that you're in the face of ego,
It will not show up as often,
Because ego really likes to hide.
It's,
Like I said,
The master trickster.
It likes to pretend it's other things,
Like low self-esteem,
Lack of confidence,
Inner child syndrome.
I'm not going to get that.
They're not going to like me.
I'm not worthy.
All these lacks.
