This meditation takes us on a visualization journey to heal our inner child. Most of our baggage, self-imposed limits, and emotional issues stem from childhood. Traumas, stories, identities, and beliefs all stem from things we determined to be true during our childhood. In this practice, we spend a moment with this child in order to cultivate compassion and release some of the painful emotions we've been holding on to for too long.

Hi,

My name is Heston and I want to thank you so much for joining me today as we take a journey to get into contact with our inner child.

I genuinely believe that most of the limits that we put on ourselves and most of the struggles that we go through stem from this inner child.

This state we experienced as a child when we were taught that we weren't good enough or that we didn't know enough or that we were bad.

And we play out those stories infinitely in our adult lives.

And the more we can communicate and learn from our inner child,

The more we can grow into the peaceful,

Loving,

Calm,

Fulfilled version of ourselves.

So first make sure you're in a comfortable seated position.

And when you're ready,

Go ahead and close your eyes.

Now let's take some deep breaths together.

When we inhale,

You want to suck in like you're sucking through a straw,

Suck in the air.

So let's inhale,

Hold it and exhale out of the mouth.

Let's do that again.

Inhale like you're sucking through a straw.

Hold.

Exhale out of the mouth.

And again,

Inhale.

Suck a little bit more.

And exhale.

And again,

Inhale.

Suck a little bit more.

A little bit more.

And exhale.

And again,

Inhale.

Hold.

Take another sip.

And exhale.

And one more.

One more inhale.

Hold.

Give another sip.

One more sip.

And exhale.

I want you to feel how your muscles relaxed.

Feel the softness on the ground below you.

And let your forehead,

Neck,

Shoulders,

Back,

And legs.

The muscles in your feet.

Now,

Picture yourself in a hallway.

Imagine what the hallway looks like.

What color is it?

How long is it?

Is it light?

Is it dark?

Are there doors all around?

And at the end of this hallway,

You see one door that you want to approach.

Walk towards it.

As you walk towards it,

Take note of what this door looks like.

What color is it?

Is it a big door?

A heavy door?

A small door?

What's the doorknob look like?

As you get closer to the door,

Feel this urge to see what's inside.

Put your hand on the doorknob.

Really open the door.

Inside is a dark room.

So dark,

In fact,

That you see nothing.

Close the door behind you.

This room is so dark.

I can't tell if it's large or small,

How tall it is.

How does this feel in this room?

Pure darkness.

Turn around and you see you can no longer tell where the door is.

Start to turn around a few times.

Just trying to get your bearing.

As you turn around,

You see a light.

It's dim.

It's far away.

But you start to approach it.

As you get closer to the light,

You can see there's someone sitting on the ground.

The light is a single bulb above them.

But you're too far away and you can't see who this person is.

So walk closer.

How do you feel about this person?

About this figure?

As you walk closer,

You can start to make out a more detailed picture of this person sitting on the ground.

Their back's towards you.

And you can see it's a child.

Walk closer.

As you get up close to this child,

You turn around and you see it's you.

It's you as a child.

They look up at you.

What do they look like?

Are they crying?

Are they smiling?

Are they lonely?

Are they afraid?

You kneel down to get closer to their level.

As you do so,

They smile.

Now ask yourself a question.

You kneel down to get onto their level.

As you look into the child's version of your eyes,

Ask this.

How do you feel?

How do you feel?

Ask yourself,

What do you need?

What do you need?

What do you need?

Now,

Look at this child,

At yourself,

And affirm this.

You belong.

You are enough.

You are loved.

You belong.

You are enough.

You are loved.

You belong.

You are enough.

You are loved.

Now move closer.

Give them a hug.

Can feel their warmth.

Give them compassion.

Give them love.

Give them safety.

Now,

Tell yourself it's time to go.

Tell yourself,

I love you.

I love you.

I love you.

Now,

Stand up.

Turn around.

Now you notice,

You can see the door again.

You slowly walk towards the door.

As you get to the door,

You look back one more time,

And you see your inner child.

They're smiling.

Now,

Open the door,

And walk out.

Close it behind you.

Now you notice,

You're no longer in the hallway.

The door leads you somewhere else.

A field.

Beautiful fields.

Green grass.

You can see butterflies floating around.

You hear the chirping of birds.

Clouds moving overhead.

How do you feel?

It's Louis.

Now,

Start to soften your awareness,

Come back to the room.

Feel the weight of your body below you.

Feel the weight of your body on the earth.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

When you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes.

I want to thank you for joining me on this journey today.

You are loved.

Namaste.
