Dear friend,
Come sit with me for a few minutes.
Gently close your eyes and bring your awareness into your body.
Imagine sitting with your back resting against a tree.
Find a place of stillness,
A place of refuge within you as you gently bring your awareness to your breath.
Notice your inhalation and your exhalation and then also notice that space between the breath.
Notice if your inhalation and your exhalation are deep or shallow,
Long or short.
And notice the quality of the space between the breath.
The stillness is found in the places in between.
Soul is found in the places in between.
Gently surrender to your breath each moment,
One moment at a time.
What is your inhalation feeling like,
Tasting like,
Smelling like?
And what is your exhalation feeling like,
Tasting like,
Smelling like?
And what about the place of stillness in between?
Can you surrender to not knowing simply for now?
Can you open to listening and feeling fully instead?
Can you listen to your breath,
The sounds around you and the sounds within you?
Let your body surrender some more.
Let yourself not know.
Nothing new can come from what is known.
What if you tasted the sweetness of not knowing this very moment with this very breath,
Each inhalation and each exhalation,
Somehow each breath different and new and somehow strangely familiar?
When the mind wanders,
Simply come back to the breath over and over as we sit in silence together only for a couple minutes.
There's nothing to do.
There's nowhere to go.
Infinity is right here.
Eternity is right now.
Soul is found in the here and now,
In the uncertainty of each moment.
Blessings to your day,
Blessings to your night.
Dear friends,
May you be well.
