This process allows you to collect and draw on strength, inspiration and insight from the group mind or collective, of those in your field (whether you are an artisit, engineer, or scientist). Tuning into the collective guided meditation.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Inhaling deeply into your stomach.

And relaxing your breath as you exhale.

Focus on your body.

Allowing your breath to be calm.

Your mind to be clear.

And your heart to be open.

Take a deep breath.

Inhaling deeply into your stomach.

And relaxing your breath as you exhale.

Invite the feeling of your artist's collective.

To slowly form around you.

Take a deep breath.

With that in-breath,

You slowly begin to feel that collective.

Around you.

Within you.

You feel those that are far away.

And you feel those that are nearby.

You feel the ones that are similar to you.

And you feel the ones that are very different.

All are a part of your collective artist's intelligence.

Raise your hands.

And with open palms,

Send blessings,

Light,

And energy to that collective.

Nourishing,

Offering love,

And confidence,

And strength to all the individuals there.

Letting them know they are not alone.

That together with you,

They have a family.

Together with you,

They are far greater than what you are each capable of as individuals.

Rest your hands down.

And with the next breath,

Ask the collective for inspiration and support.

Offer answers to any specific questions that you have.

Allow yourself to be shown and guided.

Allow the feeling of their response to enter your body.

Allow yourself to feel loved,

Nourished,

And supported.

Knowing you are capable of so much more than you are even able to right now imagine.

When you are ready,

Take several deep breaths.

Returning to your body.

Stretching,

Moving.

Opening your eyes and writing down your experience in your journal.

Man o man, do I love this exercise. It’s a very simple concept and it feels like the very thing I need right now—the “artists’ collective” is a metaphor that fits my life soooo much better than angels, spirit guides, past lives, ancient ancestors, or anything else along those lines. (Not denigrating any of those if they speak to someone else.) I have worked for the last 40 years in real-life artists’ collectives, so I totally grasp the concept and how I can apply it to my own life. I only wish it were longer—and will certainly seek out the accompanying book and any other meditations by the same instructor. Hooray!
