For this recharging practice, you are invited to sit outside or by a candle so you can feel its warmth, as you're guided to connect to your internal fire, creativity, and passion, as reflected in the external heat. You will create a circuit of light throughout your body.

Meditation on shining.

Find a quiet comfortable place to sit.

If possible,

Sit where you can be in direct sunlight,

Either indoors or outside.

If sunshine is not available,

Sit near a candle so you can feel its warmth.

Close your eyes and breathe freely for several moments.

Set your intention to connect with your internal fire.

That quality of pure,

Wild aliveness that expresses love and joy freely,

Without fear.

Ask for guidance from the higher force of your understanding to support you in this process.

Begin by breathing deep into your belly.

Feel your belly stretch open as you inhale and relax back towards your spine as you exhale.

As you open your belly to breath,

Feel the warmth on your skin from outside of you.

Let it spread throughout your body with each breath.

As you feel the heat on your body,

Also start to feel the heat building inside of you from the deep breathing.

Continue to breathe deeper and deeper.

Imagine that as you breathe,

You are activating a circuit of light.

Inhale and feel the fire from your belly rising up to your heart,

Throat,

And at the peak of your inhale,

Expanding all the way up to the crown of your head.

Suspend your breath for a moment and then exhale,

Sighing the breath out of the open mouth as you relax,

Seeing the light flow down your back to the base of your spine.

Continue to breathe in this way for several minutes,

Breathing in through the nose from belly to crown,

Pausing at the top and exhaling as the light travels down your back and returns to your belly.

Each time you breathe,

You strengthen the connection of the circuit of light traveling through your body.

Feel the heat building up inside of you.

Relax this pattern of breath and begin breathing in and out through your nose again.

Allow everything to slow down and relax.

Feel your entire body radiating,

Shining in all directions like the sun.

Ask yourself,

What would it look like for me to shine in the deepest way possible?

What fears do I have about shining brightly?

Are there any places in my life where I'm holding back?

What steps am I ready to take right now in my life that will help me shine brighter?

Remain present with your feelings and all that arises within your experience.

Slowly turn your attention back to your body.

Let the questions float around your mind and slowly fade away.

Allow your intuitive intelligence to show you a place in your body that holds the experience of shining.

Take a deep breath and gently stretch your body in any way that feels good to you in this moment.

As thoughts begin to enter your mind,

Remember that through rooting into the wisdom of your body,

You can reconnect to this experience at any time.

Take several deep breaths and come home,

Returning fully to the present moment.

Once you are ready,

Take this time to journal,

Draw,

Sing,

Play music,

Dance,

Anything that allows this energy to flow through you.

Simple on the surface but powerful and helpful on a much deeper level, this exercise is well worth returning to on a regular basis. I would not recommend it to someone who is brand-new to meditation, but on the other hand it is totally accessible to anyone ready to give it a try.
