
What Are Chakras?
The chakras are one of the body's major energy systems and are believed to influence our mental, emotional, spiritual and even physical wellbeing. In this short talk, I'll introduce you briefly to each of the seven major chakras, what they represent, and how working with them can support healing, balance and self-awareness. Hello,
This is Heather Dean.
I'm so happy and grateful that you've joined me for this short talk on what the chakras are.
So a lot of my work uses the chakras.
I have meditations that balance all of the chakras.
Sleep meditations that do the same,
And I also have meditations for each of the chakras individually.
Thought it made sense to do a short video for anyone who might be new,
Completely new,
To the chakras.
So the chakras are just one of our body's energy systems.
We have lots of energy systems,
We have the meridians,
The aura,
But the chakra system is one of the major ones.
Different schools of thought talk about a different number of chakras,
But today I just want to talk about the seven major ones.
Everyone agrees that there are seven major chakras,
And they run right through the core of the body,
From the root chakra at the base of the spine,
Right up to the crown chakra that sits just above your head.
So each of these chakras governs different aspects of our health,
Our emotional and even physical health.
And each one of them has.
A different role,
A different way of metabolizing energy.
And sometimes when we've had difficult experiences in our lives,
Some of the chakras can get off balance they can get distorted,
They're not moving and flowing as well as they should be,
And that can have repercussions on our health,
Both our mental health and even potentially our physical health,
If we don't correct that.
Change the things that we can by working through past trauma,
For example.
And giving ourselves the love and kindness and the self-care that we need.
So for example,
If you're dealing with anxiety,
A great place to start is the first chakra,
The root chakra,
That's all about our groundedness,
Our stability and safety in the world.
If you're working on creativity and you're looking to have more enjoyment more pleasure in your life then a great place to start is the sacral chakra just below the belly button Moving up to the third chakra,
That's your solar plexus chakra.
It's a beautiful sunshine yellow color and that is all about self-confidence,
Self-esteem,
Self-belief.
So that's a great chakra to work on.
I have a meditation on that for example.
Then we move up to the heart chakra.
Beautiful heart chakra,
Anahata.
This is green and it's all about love,
Our ability to give love,
Receive love.
Their forgiveness,
Kindness.
Super important.
And then we move up to the throat chakra.
So this is all about communication,
Self-expression,
Finding our voice both literally and metaphorically.
Moving up,
We have the third eye chakra.
This is the sixth chakra.
Just between the eyebrows so this is all about our intuition so if you're working on improving your psychic abilities,
Your intuition,
That's a great place to start.
And then.
.
.
The seventh chakra,
As I said,
Is the crown chakra.
It sits right above the top of the head,
Just here.
And that is all about our connection to.
Spirit.
God,
If you will,
The universe,
Whichever language you prefer for the energy of all that is,
But it's a connection to the divine.
So that was a really quick introduction to the chakras.
