This guided meditation is infused with reiki to help guide you down into a deep restorative sleep. It begins with a deep relaxation before I guide you through each of the seven chakras (major energy centers in the body), offering gentle affirmations to help free any blocked energy, allowing you to wake up feeling more calm, confident, creative, and connected. Our subconscious mind is always listening, so the affirmations will have a positive impact, even if you’re already sleeping deeply. For best results, it’s great to listen every day for 21 consecutive days so that the affirmations create new neural pathways. The music in the background is ‘Serenetude for Peace’, by MaJiKer, who is also a teacher here on Insight Timer. The track is a soothing, calming soundscape created using a single note and sculpted into an immersive sonic landscape.

Welcome to this deep sleep meditation with affirmations.

My name is Heather and I am so grateful you chose to meditate with me today.

Thank you.

This meditation is infused with Reiki,

With the energy of love and light to help guide you down into a deep,

Restful,

Restorative sleep.

The first part will help you sink down and relax into this moment.

In the second part,

I'll invite you to gently bring your attention to each of the seven chakras and for each chakra I'll offer affirmations to help release any stagnant or blocked energy,

Thereby helping you to feel more grounded,

Balanced and soul aligned.

If you should notice any emotion surfacing during the meditation,

Please just notice the feeling with kind curiosity and allow it to be there.

No feelings,

Whether wanted or unwanted,

Can hurt us.

But resisting feeling our emotions can lead to suffering.

So we really never want to resist feeling whatever arises.

However you feel,

Feel,

Just know that it is normal and healthy.

When we allow ourselves to feel,

We free that energy,

Enabling us to return to our natural,

Connected state of inner peace.

When we get to the affirmations,

You can just let my words wash over you and allow yourself to drift off to sleep at any time.

Know that the words will still be absorbed by your subconscious mind,

Even if you're asleep,

And you'll wake up feeling refreshed,

Energized and ready for a new day.

So before we begin,

I invite you to just settle in and get as comfortable as you possibly can,

Ready for relaxation and sleep.

Please don't try to sleep.

Whenever we try to do something,

We're actually informing our subconscious mind that that thing is very difficult,

Or maybe even impossible.

And in truth,

Your amazing body knows how to sleep,

Without you needing to try to do anything at all.

All you need to do is just allow yourself to be here now,

With your attention resting gently on my voice,

And just let yourself relax.

If at any time you want to change your position,

To make yourself even a little bit more comfortable,

Please do so.

This is your time.

You are completely free and always in control.

I'm going to invite you to start with a little exercise to help you relax more easily.

Neuroscientists have found that the action of rolling our eyes right up,

Almost as if we're looking up into our own eyebrows,

Creates little bursts of alpha brainwaves,

Which in turn lead us to feeling calmer,

More relaxed and more connected with ourselves.

We see babies naturally roll their eyes right up,

Just before they drift off to sleep.

We're going to recreate that now.

You may not find the action of rolling your eyes up that comfortable,

But we're only going to do this for three breaths,

Then we'll relax the eyes completely and gently close them.

If you should happen to find this too uncomfortable,

Please don't do it.

You can absolutely follow the rest of the meditation without this action,

If you prefer.

You can still do the three breaths with us.

Are you ready to try?

So go ahead now and just roll your eyes right up,

Almost as if you were looking up into your own eyebrows.

Keep your chin down and relaxed.

We're just moving the eyes here.

Take a long,

Slow and deep breath in and breathe out slowly.

We're going to do that again,

Keeping your eyes rolled up.

Let's take a second deep breath in and breathe out slowly.

And one last time with your eyes right up and every time you blink,

You're drifting deeper into relaxation.

Take a deep breath in and breathe out.

That's perfect.

And now just let your eyes float closed,

Drift closed.

Let your eyes relax completely and all the tiny muscles in and around your eyes.

Let go,

Let loose and you're already feeling more and more relaxed.

That's wonderful.

You're doing so well.

Now just drop your chin very slightly,

Almost as if you were looking over a balcony or down a flight of stairs.

I want you to imagine there are 10 steps descending down in front of you.

And these steps lead to a beautiful place where you feel very comfortable,

Peaceful,

Safe and relaxed.

This could be a real place that you visited or somewhere completely imagined.

Maybe it's a beach,

A garden,

A cozy log cabin or absolutely anywhere you would love to be.

I'm going to guide you down the steps and you'll go deeper and deeper into a very pleasant state of relaxation.

You are completely safe and always in control.

You are free to bring yourself easily back to full consciousness at any time if you should want or need to.

I want you to imagine you are moving onto step 10 as you begin to feel more and more relaxed.

You can see your feet,

Hear your feet and even feel your feet moving onto step 9 as you go even deeper.

You're moving onto step 8,

Going deeper into this blissful awareness of yourself with every heartbeat.

You're taking step 7,

Feeling more and more relaxed as you focus on the sound of my voice.

You're taking step 6,

Going deeper into this calm,

Peaceful state of awareness and it feels wonderful.

You're taking step 5,

You're already halfway down and when you reach the bottom you'll be at least twice as relaxed as you are already.

You're taking step 4,

As every muscle,

Every nerve lets loose and you go deeper.

You're taking step 3,

Feeling incredibly peaceful and maybe your arms or legs are starting to feel just a little heavier.

You're taking step 2,

Going deeper and deeper into relaxation.

You're taking step 1,

Just go deeper,

Sink deeper,

Drift deeper and deeper into this blissful connection with yourself,

With your own inner peace.

That's perfect,

You're doing so well.

And now that you're in this deep state of relaxation,

I wonder if you can just bring your attention to your hands.

Can you feel your hands?

Do you notice any tiny sensations perhaps in your hands?

Some people notice a tingling or a numbness or a heaviness in the hands and some people feel nothing at all and that's completely normal too.

There is no right or wrong way to feel,

However you experience this,

It's the right way for you.

How about your feet?

Can you feel your feet?

Can you notice any tiny sensations in your feet?

A sort of aliveness perhaps?

Just see if you feel your feet and notice how they feel.

And bringing our attention to the hands and feet in this way,

We're becoming more and more present,

More and more in the body where the magic of deep peaceful sleep can find us.

Maybe you notice that you're feeling even more relaxed now,

You are free in this space to drift off to a deep healing sleep whenever the time is right for you.

And in this deeply relaxed state,

Perhaps even drifting off to sleep already,

Your subconscious mind is open to new ideas and suggestions that it recognizes as being for your highest good.

I'm going to talk briefly about what our chakras are and then I'll invite you to gently bring your attention to each of the chakras.

As I offer healing,

Balancing affirmations for each of these major energy centers.

Our chakras are seven major energy centers in the body.

They run through the center of the body from the bottom of the spine,

The root chakra,

To the top of the head,

The crown chakra.

The word chakra means wheel in Sanskrit and you can think of these energy centers as spinning wheels of bright light.

Each of the seven chakras has a color and I'll talk you through the colors as we go along to help you perhaps visualize the chakra opening and balancing.

By bringing our loving awareness to each of the chakras,

And using affirmations,

We can realign our energy and come back to our most authentic,

Loving,

Connected,

Intuitive versions of ourselves.

You may consciously hear my words if you're not yet sleeping deeply,

But you don't need to listen.

You can just let your mind wander anywhere it wants to go.

The words will enter your subconscious mind and help bring you back to a more grounded,

Balanced and aligned state.

Bring your attention to the base of your spine.

This is where the first chakra,

The root chakra,

Is located.

It's a bright ruby red color and the root chakra is all about our identity,

Stability,

Security and safety in the world.

You are safe.

You are grounded in Mother Earth.

You are centered.

You belong here.

The universe wants you here.

You are exactly where you're meant to be.

The second chakra is the sacral chakra located just below the belly button.

It's a beautiful sunset orange color and it's all about our joy,

Pleasure and creativity.

You allow pleasure to flow in all areas of your life.

You deserve joy.

You deserve to play and have fun.

You are creative.

You were born to create.

The third chakra is the solar plexus chakra.

It is located a few inches above the belly button just below the solar plexus.

This energy center is a vibrant sunshine yellow and it relates to our self-esteem,

Self-confidence and personality.

You love who you are.

You are unique and amazing.

You trust yourself.

You believe in yourself.

You know that you are a gift.

You are gifted.

You stand strong in your power.

The fourth chakra is the heart chakra.

This is our center for love,

Kindness and compassion.

Just imagine a wheel of bright green light spinning like a vortex in front of your heart space.

The light gets stronger and brighter and as it enters your body it helps your heart to open and to release any past pain.

To forgive anything you may want to forgive today and to send love to yourself.

To any past versions of you that needed your love.

To the now you and anything you may be experiencing at this time and to all future versions of you.

May they all receive the light of your own loving kindness.

You are loving.

You are loved.

You are love.

You are kind and compassionate to all including and especially yourself.

You know that all love starts with loving yourself.

You know that you deserve your own love.

You are worthy and you easily and gratefully accept all the love and kindness you receive.

There is a constant stream of love available to you at all times and all you have to do is allow it.

The fifth chakra is the throat chakra.

It's a beautiful sky blue color and it is related to communication,

Expression and our voice.

You speak your truth from the heart.

You have a powerful voice and the courage and confidence to use it.

It is safe for you to speak your truth.

It is safe for you to express how you truly feel.

The sixth chakra is the third eye chakra.

It is located in the middle of the forehead just above the eyebrows.

The third eye chakra is a deep inky indigo color and this is the center for our intuition,

Imagination and manifesting.

You are highly intuitive.

You trust your inner knowing and guidance.

You have the power to create a life that you love.

You can be,

Do and have anything your heart desires.

You are a powerful co-creator.

You easily attract to you everything that is meant for you.

All your blessings are divinely protected.

The seventh and last chakra is the crown chakra.

It is a beautiful bright violet color but you could also visualize white or golden light in this spinning sphere.

The crown chakra sits just above the top of your head and this is our center of awareness,

Consciousness and connection to source.

You can see the crown chakra as being your point of connection to the universal energy of all that is.

Whatever you choose to call that.

You are always connected to your higher power.

You are connected to the energy of all that is.

We are all one.

You are pure awareness.

You are expanded consciousness.

You are.

This meditation is coming to an end but the music will continue for a little while longer as you drift off to sleep.

You can enjoy knowing that just by bringing awareness to each of the chakras you are now more balanced,

Grounded and aligned.

If you haven't already done so when I count down from ten to one in a moment you will drift off to the most blissful peaceful healing deep sleep.

When you wake up in the morning you will be feeling refreshed,

Revitalized and rejuvenated.

You will feel calm and connected.

Loving and lovable.

Peaceful,

Confident and so happy.
