Give yourself the gift of being bored today for even just 60 seconds.

Find a time and a space to just be,

Maybe immediately following this mindful moment.

Don't watch anything,

Don't listen to anything,

Don't do anything.

Don't pair this boredom with music or a walk or playing with your pet.

Remember,

The key is to be bored.

Allow yourself for one single moment to do nothing but inhale,

Exhale,

And just be.

Notice where your mind wanders.

What thoughts surface?

Do you feel you need to immediately address them?

Are you reminded of the things you forgot to look up or the chore you need to go do?

When these thoughts surface,

Come back to just being.

What you see around you,

What you hear,

What you feel.

Inhale,

Exhale,

And just be.

Our bodies and minds deserve this reprieve.

Boredom is an art and boredom is a gift.

Think of all the creative things you came up with as a child when you fell bored.

Remember how liberating even the weirdest,

Smallest,

Or what most would consider completely unexciting thing would be in the stent of boredom.

Let your mind wander,

Let your imagination flow,

And commit to a moment of pure boredom today.
