The self-expression through sensual movement meditation,
Find yourself today in a dimly lit room,
Burning a candle of your choosing.
In the dark,
We find ourselves yearning for the light,
Yet in the light,
We crave the depth that the dark brings.
Our bodies ache for a reason we cannot name.
It's yearning for the opportunity to be seen,
To come alive,
To be felt.
Like an evocative dance,
Or the way our lips read a page of poetry,
There's an art to the way we express,
And this art form starts in meditation,
In silence with ourselves.
It's in the way that we speak to ourselves.
It's in the way we breathe.
It's in the seconds we slow down and feel presence in our own stillness,
Sensing the cool breath on our own skin,
The rhythmic heartbeat in our own chest.
What we need most is this,
Connection to ourselves,
Connection to our bodies.
So,
We cultivate a safe space today in ourselves where expression can thrive,
And we spend these few moments alone to reestablish this deep connection internally with our bodies and our souls.
Doing so stimulates digestion and gets things flowing within you.
This radiant,
Creative energy from the lower chakras now moves upward,
Touching other parts of your internal organs.
As you continue rotating,
Envision your most sensual and passionate self,
And continue to move with grace and ease.
Now,
Begin to rotate your torso to the left,
In the same slow circular motions.
Feel into it,
Let your body tell you the pace that it desires.
As you continue to rotate to the left,
Begin to get your hands involved,
Picture a dreamy beach scene in front of you,
Hear the sound of the water,
Feel the sensation of your toes in the sand.
As you do so,
Make a rhythmic wave motion with both hands.
Let your body guide you with the direction and the pace.
Let it flow like the waves in the ocean.
Continue rotating your torso and making a wave motion with your hands,
Feeling into them deeply,
And letting the soft swaying motion paint a picture for you in your mind.
Rotate your torso,
And move your hands in a wavelike pattern.
Make them complement each other.
Now,
Rest your hands,
But continue circling your torso,
Now back to the right.
And as you do so,
Add gentle neck rotations in either direction.
As you do so,
This opens up your heart.
Gently roll your neck,
And rotate your torso.
Blend these two movements together.
Pretend it's like a dance,
A play that only you are watching.
Make it feel beautiful.
Escape into this sensual abyss.
There's mystery here.
So much depth,
And endless inspiration.
Keep moving,
Keep flowing,
Keep dancing.
Now,
Sit on your ankles,
And bow your head to the floor with both hands out in front of you.
Fingers spread wide,
Bow your head back up,
And slowly bow back down repeatedly,
Almost as if you are going up and down from child's pose,
Except the ankles are together.
Continue bowing your head to the floor with both hands out in front of you,
And then bowing the head up,
With the arms held high in the air,
And then bow back down.
Continue this pattern,
Giving reverence to your body,
Giving reverence to your heart,
The passion and the adoration that lies within.
Let it come to the surface now.
Don't hold back.
Feel that deep,
Inner respect that you have for yourself now.
As you continue to bow up and down,
Bow to your own essence.
Now simply sit in your stillness.
You can sit cross-legged,
With a straight spine,
And gently touch your fingertips together,
Noticing any sensations,
And just let yourself be.
Soak in your beauty.
Bring one hand to the heart,
And one hand to the stomach.
Feel your chest rise and fall with each breath.
Feel your presence.
Feel your energy.
Feel the tingling in your fingertips.
Thank your body now for letting it move with so much grace.
I'll leave you with this quote today.
Dancing is surely the most basic and relevant of all forms of expression.
Nothing else can so effectively give outward form to an inner experience.
Thank you for sharing space with me today.
Namaste,
My loves.
