A warm welcome to you.

My name is Fleur Chambers and it's my pleasure to guide you in this morning's practice.

When life is busy and you feel pulled in all different directions as a mom,

Starting your day with meditation can have a profound impact on your day.

It can help you feel more present and patient with your children,

More kind and forgiving towards yourself,

And more engaged in the things and with the people that really matter to you.

When we take time to center ourselves in the morning and to set ourselves an intention for the day,

It's like we wake up from autopilot,

From that feeling of always being one step behind or one step ahead.

We wake up from the blur of overwhelm and busyness.

When we give ourselves this little bit of space we are more able to connect with the mother we want to be deep down inside.

From here we can take charge of our day and steer it in a positive direction for us and our family.

So are you ready?

Wonderful.

So beginning by closing down your eyes and simply focusing on your breath.

Noticing the air as it enters your body.

Noticing the air as it leaves your body.

Noticing the gentle rise and fall of your chest as you breathe.

Noticing the soft expanse of your belly as the air flows in and out.

Noticing how actually your body breathes on its own.

You are being breathed.

Resting here in the intelligence of your body.

If thoughts come that's okay.

It's all part of meditation.

Simply offer them a smile and return once more to the natural rhythm of your breath.

With each breath you are connecting with yourself a little more.

And offering yourself a smile now.

For your commitment to creating more space in your mind body and heart so that you can parent in a way that feels calm and loving.

Returning your awareness once more to your breath.

And directing each breath into your heart or the space in the middle of your chest.

Imagining that each breath is traveling deep into your heart.

No right or wrong here.

Simply being open to connecting with your heart this morning.

With each breath you are waking your heart from its slumber.

With each breath you are connecting with the part of you who is loving,

Patient,

Compassionate and calm.

Breathing in to your heart.

Breathing out of your heart.

I'm curious who is in your heart this morning.

Gently holding these people in your mind's eye for a moment now.

Really taking in their details.

Noticing their faces,

Their bodies.

Noticing what they are doing.

As you look a little closer you notice that they are smiling at you.

You smile back.

Breathing into this shared sense of smile.

Breathing it deep into your heart.

Resting here in this felt sense of love for these people who are in your heart.

Maybe you notice a sense of warmth,

Relaxation or peace sweeping over you.

Drawing your awareness now to your in-breath.

Noticing how when you breathe in your chest expands at the front,

The back and the sides.

As you breathe in you are receiving fresh oxygen and energy.

You are breathing in beginnings,

Hope,

Possibility.

Today you can be the mother you want to be deep down inside.

Is there something you would like to invite into your day today?

Perhaps you would like to invite in a greater sense of patience or understanding.

Maybe today you would like to be more compassionate or forgiving towards yourself or others.

Is it a sense of calm and space you would like to experience today?

With each in-breath can you imagine you are breathing this quality,

This possibility deep into your chest.

With each in-breath this quality is moving into your heart and your belly.

Taking a deep breath into this sense of possibility.

Allowing it to trickle all the way down your legs,

To your feet and ten toes.

Allowing it to trickle all the way down your arms,

To your hands and ten fingers.

Noticing how this feels for you.

Perhaps you notice tingling or a sense of aliveness within you.

Maybe it feels more like calm,

Relaxation or peace.

This is your sense of possibility and hope for your new day.

And from this place of inspiration and hope perhaps you would like to set yourself an intention for today.

Maybe it relates to the quality you have just invited in.

Or maybe it feels a little different.

Repeating this intention three times in your mind.

Taking a deep breath in and planting this intention like a seed in your heart.

Enjoying another deep breath and as you exhale sending this intention out into the world.

Allowing it to guide your actions.

Imagining yourself now moving through your day with this quality you have invited in.

Imagine yourself moving through your day with this intention supporting you every step you take.

What would you do?

How would you act?

How would your relationships look and feel?

How would you feel about yourself?

All this is possible for you today.

Let's finish this meditation with a smile.

A smile for your commitment to take some well deserved time for yourself so that today you can feel less busy,

More patient,

Loving and kind to yourself and your family.

Rubbing your hands together,

Feeling your own warmth.

Facing them somewhere on your body as a gentle gesture of love and connection.

Opening your eyes to the space you are in.

May you move through today with more patience,

Presence and calm.

May you be the mum you want to be deep down inside.
