This meditation is produced by Harvesting Happiness.

Take a moment to get comfortable.

You can close your eyes if you like.

How does your body feel today?

Is it tired?

Are there bits that are sore?

Do you feel wriggly?

Or are you happy to sit still for a moment?

However you are feeling,

That's okay.

Our bodies are pretty amazing.

All day they help us get where we need to go.

We can play sport,

To hang out with our friends.

They can run,

Jump,

Twist and turn.

Sometimes it feels good to stop for a bit and to thank our body for all it does for us each day.

Let's start by taking three deep breaths in and out.

You can do this in your own time.

When you are finished you can just go back to breathing normally.

Does your chest move when you breathe?

Do you notice that your tummy gets bigger when you breathe in?

And it goes back to normal when you breathe out?

Did you know that each time you breathe in you are receiving oxygen into your lungs?

What about your heart?

Did you know that right now it's pumping oxygen and nutrients all around your body?

Perhaps you can feel your heart beating?

Perhaps you can picture your heart beating in your mind?

Does your heart feel big or small today?

When you picture it in your mind what colour is it?

What texture is it?

Perhaps it looks smooth or bumpy?

We have lots of feelings in our heart.

Our heart may feel happy,

Sad,

Excited or worried.

How is your heart feeling today?

Now can you focus on your eyes?

The eyes that allow you to see all different shapes and colours?

Your ears that let you hear your favourite songs,

Birds chirping,

The laughter of your friends?

And what about your nose that smells all the delicious food you are lucky enough to eat?

What's your favourite smell?

And your mouth that asks questions,

Tells jokes,

Eats yummy food?

What is your favourite food?

Can you picture it in your mind?

Now can you focus on your hands?

You may even like to give your fingers a wiggle.

These hands that throw and catch balls,

Write and draw,

Play on the computer,

Climb trees,

Hug your mum and dad.

And how about your feet and toes?

Give them a wiggle too.

These feet that help you run,

Walk,

Jump,

Cartwheel,

Scoot and ride.

And what about your brain that learns new things every day?

Your body is pretty amazing,

Don't you think?

How does your body feel right now?

When you are ready,

Take a nice big stretch and gently open your eyes.

My wriggly, somewhat resistant 6 yr old and I made it through the full 6 minutes. Lovely steady voice and path that suits a busy kids day. Thank you.
