Welcome,

Beautiful.

This is Guri.

Today we are talking about a crucial topic,

Eco-anxiety.

You probably are well aware or maybe this is the first time you're learning about this topic.

But a lot of us are going through this right now.

When we look around in our environment and see climate change happening everywhere in the world,

We feel stressed,

Fearful and some kind of grief.

And this can be very overwhelming for an individual.

The best thing that you can do apart from being mindful when you make your shopping choices is to use this fear and anxiety into the motivation to heal.

There is a beautiful Tibetan practice called tonglen,

Which means giving and taking or sending and receiving.

This practice can be helpful when you're dealing with eco-anxiety and climate crisis.

And this has been an effective practice especially for environmentalists and climate activists.

Even if you're not out there sharing your message with the world,

You can still feel overwhelmed by these situations.

And this practice helps you to see your fears with the positive outlook of entrust and compassion.

So to overcome your anxiety using this practice,

You use your breath to draw out the suffering.

And using the power of your mind,

You visualize to give gratitude to our planet and send healing to those who need it.

I have created a guided meditation to overcome eco-anxiety that is out on Insight Timer and all other platforms under the title overcoming eco-anxiety guided meditation.

Apart from this meditation,

You can also try walking meditation in your backyard or go to one of the trails in your neighborhood.

You can sit in nature and do a sensory awareness practice,

Which includes letting go of your thoughts,

Feelings and intentions so that you can practice awareness of the present moment and appreciate what Mother Earth has given us without expecting anything in return.
