Welcome to this meditation on impermanence.
A truth that reminds us that nothing in life is permanent or fixed.
Begin by finding your most comfortable position,
Either sitting or laying down in a quiet and peaceful space,
Keeping your back upright but not uptight.
Tilt your head down as you're looking at the floor three to four feet in front of you.
You can close your eyes or keep them slightly open.
Take a few breaths in through your nose as you locate your breath and exhale slowly through your mouth,
Allowing your body and mind to relax.
As you settle into the present moment,
While keeping your focus on your breath,
Bring to mind the concept of impermanence.
Impermanence is a fundamental truth of our existence and by embracing it,
We can cultivate a greater sense of wisdom,
Compassion and acceptance.
Reflect on the fact that everything in life is constantly changing,
Whether it be our thoughts,
Emotions,
Relationships or the world around us.
Nothing stays the same and everything is in a state of constant flux.
Reflect on the impermanence of your own body and mind.
Your cells are constantly regenerating.
Your thoughts and emotions are constantly shifting.
You're not the same person you were a year,
A month,
A week or even a moment ago.
Contemplate the impermanence of the world around you.
Think about the natural cycles of birth,
Growth and decay that are constantly occurring in the natural world.
Reflect on the fact that even the most solid and enduring objects such as mountains and oceans are subject to erosion and change over time.
Seasons change,
Weather changes,
Cities change,
Technology changes.
Everything is changing as we learn,
Grow and evolve from our past.
As you continue to meditate on impermanence,
Allow yourself to feel a sense of liberation and freedom.
Understand that impermanence is natural and it's something we cannot control.
So we should let go a little bit and learn to flow with the nature.
By accepting that everything is impermanent,
We can let go of attachment,
Cravings and aversion.
We can embrace the present moment fully without clinging to the past or worrying about the future.
To deeply understand impermanence,
Let's use the example of your breath.
Your breath is constantly changing.
Sometimes it's fast and shallow and sometimes it's slow and deep.
It changes from moment to moment.
If your breathing wasn't changing,
Especially in situations when you needed more air,
You would have not been sitting here and meditating on impermanence.
So connect with your breath for the next few minutes and notice how it changes with thoughts,
Emotions,
Sounds and memories.
Without merging yourself with the experience,
Try to witness it from a distance by being an observer.
Now repeat the following mantra to yourself.
All things are impermanent and all things are interconnected.
I embrace the present moment with compassion and acceptance.
Allow this mantra to sink into your mind and heart and let it guide you as you move through your day.
Remember,
By embracing the truth of impermanence,
We can cultivate a deeper sense of peace,
Wisdom and compassion.
By accepting that nothing in life is permanent or fixed,
We can learn to live fully in the present moment with gratitude and joy.
