Welcome,

This is Gurri.

Our today's topic is accepting the change,

The path to liberation.

We humans think that things are permanent.

We may even feel that we are exactly the same.

But we are not.

We are always evolving.

We are always growing.

We age,

Our bodies change,

And our moods change all the time.

Even though we are not conscious about it,

But everything in the universe is changing and expanding.

So it's important to understand and accept the change and see how it can change your life in so many different ways.

If I think of one of the examples,

It is from my meditation practice.

When I'm sitting in meditation and suddenly there is a pain in my back or I feel an itch on my hand,

I would start assuming that this sensation will last forever.

I'm sure that you can relate to that.

Maybe I'm debating if I should scratch my hand or leave it as it is,

And then it suddenly stops.

It's gone.

It's not itchy anymore.

And my awareness is back on my breathing.

Same thing with the pain.

If my back hurts and I become aware that it doesn't happen always,

It is only happening in this moment.

The pain will change itself.

This is what I call liberation from itching and the pain as I realize it won't last forever.

When we understand that change is the only constant in life and when we experience change,

Only then we can make an effort to do something different.

We are more reactive than proactive.

We do things in the same way on a daily basis.

And we adapt to similar patterns that are reactive.

Mental patterns such as your thoughts that you notice when you sit for your meditation practice.

Mental patterns for example,

I'm sad,

I'm sick,

Or I'm always stressed.

And yes,

You are feeling this way maybe more than usual,

But you're not experiencing all of these emotions all the time.

There are also days when you feel good and you're happy.

And knowing that nothing stays the same and there is change in everything can be liberating.

Some people like to micromanage and they will get so mad when things are not done in a way they think is correct.

I too sometimes struggle with this one,

Especially in the kitchen.

When my partner is doing the dishes,

I'm always suspicious that they are not clean.

And when I say something,

Then there is an exchange of words.

So I try not to notice how people are doing the task as long as the end result is what I'm looking for,

I'm happy with that.

One question you can ask yourself when you notice a mistake,

You can say,

I could have done that too and it's okay.

When you catch yourself for not repeating the same pattern is always a win.

And sometimes you will slip from your new ways and habits.

And in those moments,

Recognize that you're not always like this.

Think about how many times you have succeeded before.

One of the lessons that I can take from meditation is that it teaches us to start over and over again,

To evolve and transform from our old ways to new experiences.

I learned this from someone that change has different types.

Think of it as temporary,

Repetitive,

And permanent.

Temporary change can be someone making the same mistake after every once in a while,

And it can happen again.

So instead of thinking that this person is always making a mistake that can feel more severe,

Ask yourself this question,

Is this a temporary change?

How long will this last?

If it's going to vanish in few minutes,

Then you don't need to make a lot of effort because it will change.

Everything is changing itself.

Sensitive change is when you don't react every single time,

But there are chances that you will react under certain conditions.

You would say you feel sad,

But you're not sad every day and every week.

Through reflection and meditation,

You can find out the reason.

Ask yourself,

What makes me sad?

When do I feel sad?

Is there a time when I'm not sad?

After finding more clarity after these self-reflection questions,

You can now see how change can help you recognize your habits,

Behaviors,

And transform them so that you're not reactive all the time.

Instead of finding the solution,

First find out the problem.

Then there is something I would call permanent change.

Change can only be permanent when we believe that it's permanent.

This happens when we experience something shocking.

It can be a heartbreak,

Injury,

Or loss of someone or something.

In this situation,

The most important question is to ask yourself,

How can I acknowledge this pain without amplifying it?

You're not trying to stop or bury the severity of these emotions,

But bringing a little change into the intensity by looking for that little space.

Instead of stopping your thoughts,

Creating scenarios in your head,

You bring your awareness to your breath,

Your body,

To the environment around you.

This acts as a form of space in between your thoughts.

As per my personal experience,

Simply sitting in meditation might not always work,

Especially when the change is intense.

In those situations,

Seeking help,

Talking to a professional,

Going out in the nature,

Meeting people,

All are great alternatives.

At the end,

Accept that everything is changing,

Even the severity of your emotions.

Even with that change,

You can make an effort to ride the waves until they become less intense.

Always remember,

Even though sometimes change is difficult,

But it will pass and you will become stronger and you will heal yourself because of this change.

Understanding that change is a gift might lead you to your path to liberation.

This is Gurdi,

Sending you peace,

Love and light.
