Overwhelm comes from overthinking,
Which might not be what you believe to be true.
But what if your to-do list isn't the real issue?
Just pause for a moment and notice what you can feel in your body when that overwhelm is there.
Can you feel the tightness,
Perhaps a heavy feeling in your chest?
Is there a feeling of urgency,
Feeling revved up like everything has to happen right now?
That feeling that you're experiencing in your body is a little note,
A love note,
From your body to let you know that you're thinking a lot probably about that to-do list.
And the thing to know about that is that productivity or anything else for that matter cannot fix a feeling.
It cannot fix something that comes from the mind.
But you can breathe right now.
You can pause.
Right now,
You can feel your body against whatever surface it's on.
Maybe your feet are on the floor or your bottom is on a chair.
Notice those sensations in your body.
Breathe into them,
In and out,
In and out,
In and out.
Clarity does not come from crossing things off that list.
But it comes when we fall into the present moment,
When we connect to our breath,
When we connect to those uncomfortable sensations in the body,
When we connect to our soul.
Notice right now the thoughts that are creating that pressure in your body.
Notice that inner critic telling you you need to get it all done to be enough.
And then just let it pass through.
You don't have to believe it.
You might not have realised that because it's been there a really long time.
You don't have to earn the right to rest.
Ease is available now,
Right now,
Without doing a single thing.
And the joyous thing is that as you rest in that space,
I think you might feel more inclined to do some things anyway.
Thank you.
Much love.
