It's often in times of chaos and disharmony when we need these things the most but they seem the furthest away.
So we're just going to begin today's meditation in a position that's comfortable for you.
Preferably sitting up with your spine nice and tall,
Your shoulders relaxed,
Grinding down through our sitting bones,
Lengthening our spine and begin to connect to your breath.
On our inhales we want the air to go deep into our bellies and then slowly make their way up to our chest.
On our exhale we're going to release all of the stagnant energy from today,
All the energy that no longer serves you.
With every inhale and exhale letting all of the stress,
The worry,
The pain simply just melt away.
Focusing on your inhales and your exhales begin to bring awareness to the place where you can feel the sensation of the breath entering your body the most.
So this might be at your nostrils or perhaps it's with the rising and falling of your belly.
Wherever it may be notice and simply just bring awareness to this place.
Notice the rising and the falling and with each exhale letting yourself relax.
Now letting that awareness go and taking one of your hands or maybe two to place over your heart allowing your hand to feel the beating of your heart,
To feel the rising and the falling of the air entering your body and leaving again.
Perhaps you can feel your heart beating and maybe just take a moment to realize how incredible it is that you are alive and that even though times are quite chaotic and difficult right now you are alive,
You are persevering through it all and you can overcome absolutely anything.
Now you can keep your hands at your heart or place them back down by your side.
I'm just going to take a few moments just to simply be.
Often times of being calm and still are the most elusive when we need them the most but just know that you are so worthy of these times,
These moments of connecting back to yourself.
If you have thoughts racing around your mind just know that that's okay.
You are human,
You're allowed to have these thoughts but our power lives within the thoughts we choose to let stay.
We can choose to fill our mind with positive abundant thoughts or we can let the negative ones overcome us.
Come back to that breath now.
Deepening your inhales and your exhales.
Just trying to make the inhales and the exhales the same length.
Really allowing your body to slow down and in turn your thoughts to follow.
When you have those thoughts that aren't in the present moment simply just see if you can return your focus back to the breath.
If you are finding that difficult that's okay.
We're going to end this meditation with a few moments of gratitude.
Gratitude is such an important emotion for us to cultivate within ourselves.
It can become so easy to focus on everything we don't have and forget everything we do.
How blessed are we,
How lucky are we to live where we live,
To have the people around us that we have.
We can choose to see our life in abundance or in scarcity.
So maybe just taking a few moments now to list just in your head maybe one to three things that you are grateful for.
These can be huge amazing things or just the tiniest thing.
Maybe you're grateful for coffee or for the beach,
The ocean,
Sand,
Your best friend,
Your lover.
Maybe it's simply just the fact that you got to wake up this morning and live another day.
You know letting that go and simply just being.
And then when you're ready slowly beginning to come back into the room that you were in.
Maybe start by slowly wiggling your hands and your toes and deepening your inhales and your exhales bringing life back to your body.
Perhaps before you open your eyes can you imagine what the room looks like that you were currently in.
And then when you are ready slowly start to blink open your eyes.
Maybe have a big stretch and send a little bit of gratitude to yourself for making this time to slow down to give back to your mind and your body when the world really needs it.
And maybe just taking a bit of this calm that we've created with you today into your evening into your morning and just know that you can listen to this whenever you need it.
It is purely for you.
Hope you have a beautiful day or night wherever you are.
Thank you.
