Returning to your presence.
This meditation is for those who need to reawaken or return back to the presence that so deeply lives within them.
So often we walk around our days being everywhere apart from in the present moment but this is where we miss all of the beauty all of the amazing moments that are before us.
So beginning this meditation in a comfortable seated position closing down the eyes and making sure the spine is nice and long beginning to deepen your inhales and your exhales.
Become aware of your breath simply observing the breath the rising and the falling of the air entering and leaving your body again.
To bring awareness to our present moment there are a few simple tools we can use.
So as we sit here I want you to become aware of the feeling of the ground or the surface against your bum or whatever you are sitting on.
Become aware of that feeling of the skin touching your legs and then bringing the awareness up to your arms.
What can you feel your arms touching?
Perhaps it's your shirt or the chair.
Simply just becoming aware of this feeling against the skin.
Now taking that awareness to your chest in particular your heart center.
Can you bring your mind to your heart?
As you inhale and exhale can you become aware of your heartbeat?
You are so alive in this moment.
Everything exists just within this moment within you.
Letting go of the awareness of the heart and moving to the sense of smell.
Is there any particular smell in the room that you are in?
Perhaps you can't smell anything in particular.
That's okay too.
But if you can sense a strong smell around you simply observe that smell.
Don't create a story to it.
Simply just observe,
Become aware,
Let it be.
Now letting that awareness of our smell go and bring your awareness to the noises you can hear around you right now.
The noise of my voice but also what's beyond that.
Take a moment to bring your awareness to the sounds outside of the room right now.
Maybe you can hear cars passing.
Maybe you can hear people talking.
All of this is happening right here and now in the present moment.
This present moment is what is most important.
This present moment is life.
Now letting that sense of awareness of the noises happening around us go and returning back to the breath.
Deepening those inhales and exhales again.
I want you to know that although sometimes we can get so swept away in our minds voice,
In everything that's happening in every moment but right now,
We have the power to return to our presence.
We have the power to retrain our brain to live in the present moment and when we begin to do that,
That's when life really begins.
Kissing your lover so deeply within the moment with no thoughts but the feelings,
The smells,
The sensations against your lips.
Nothing feels better than being present in every experience.
You can use these senses awareness tools whenever you need to return to the present moment simply by tuning in about what's really going on.
First with the breath then with our senses you will begin to cultivate presence within your life and then when you're ready slowly opening up your eyes,
Looking around and taking the room in.
Maybe scanning down at your body looking at all of the things that you can feel.
Maybe bringing a smile to your lips.
