Welcome to your body.
This is a practice of surrendering to the grief you hold within.
So take a moment and get into a position that feels like surrender in your body.
Maybe that's lying down,
Maybe that's in a child's pose.
Maybe it's leaning back against a tree or a wall.
And I invite you to grab any props that feel good for you.
Perhaps a blanket,
A pillow,
Or several.
Supporting your grief from the outside in.
And as you arrive,
Take some time to settle your eyes,
Whether they end up fully closed or just a soft gaze.
Breathe in and out.
Doesn't have to be particularly deep yet.
But do make it intentional.
And as you breathe in,
Start to bring awareness to your body.
And specifically where your grief is living in your body.
Placing a hand over that part of your body.
And it might be one part,
It might be many parts.
And it might be sort of all over.
Whatever your hand is doing wherever it is.
See if there's any tension,
Any pain in this part.
And actively send your breath there.
Letting your grief know that it's okay.
It's okay to be here.
It's okay to be what it is.
And as you breathe into this part of your body.
Just continuing to notice if there's anywhere else that's holding tension or tightness.
Waiting to let go.
Continuing to your grief,
Letting your grief release does not discount your pain.
Your grief is yours to carry for life.
You're simply making space around it.
Check in now,
Is there a better position for my body that feels even more like surrender?
Continuing to let your body move you.
Continuing to let your grief move you to the places that will.
Letting out any sounds,
Any tears.
Anything at all that needs to be released.
Letting go into the earth to be transmuted into something else.
The more you breathe,
The more parts of your body,
Your breath touches.
More space is created to connect to your love,
Your passion,
Your soul,
Your relationships.
Your wondering is deeply sacred.
And the more you let go.
The more life comes in.
More you let your body be heavy.
The more lightness you will feel and the rule of opposites is happening in our bodies all the time.
Continue to let your body move in whatever way it needs to.
Just surrender to the stillness.
Staying here as long as you need to and coming out when you're ready.
