Connecting to the healing light within.
Let's begin by settling into a comfortable position someplace quiet.
Get a cross-legged on the floor or in a chair.
You can also do this lying down if you prefer to or if you need to.
If you are sitting,
It's beneficial to keep the spine upright and self-supporting.
The body should be relaxed and comfortably balanced.
You can close your eyes if you're comfortable doing so or you can leave them sort of half open without focusing on anything specific,
Just peering out from your inner world to the outer world.
Take a moment now and just observe your breathing.
Notice the gentle rhythm of your inhaling and exhaling.
As you watch your breathing,
It will begin to calm down and become more even.
Be aware that your breathing is not something that you are doing.
Something is doing the breathing for you.
Now slowly,
By just observing,
Begin to scan your body,
Beginning with the tips of your toes.
Just observe and be aware of your toes.
Move gradually up through your limbs and through your body.
Continue scanning outward through your arms to your fingertips and up to the top of your head.
Now be aware of how your whole body feels.
Notice any places where there is tension and let those areas relax.
Don't be concerned about any thoughts that may be happening.
Just relax your body and begin to look inward.
Turn your mental attention to the mysterious realm of your inner being.
Leave your focus toward the center of your being,
Into the heart of your being.
Now leave the whole outer physical world behind and gently explore the interior of yourself.
You may see darkness or shadows or mental images,
Just let it all be.
For now it's all fine,
Just as it is.
You will of course notice thoughts.
Just quietly observe them without judging or analyzing them.
Notice how your thoughts appear all on their own.
You don't have to try to start thinking.
It's just happening all by itself,
All the time.
Now move your attention to your feelings.
There may be an undercurrent of some persistent feeling or several threads of different feelings woven into your thoughts.
Just let them be.
Assure your mind that you will deal with all the thoughts and feelings that require your attention later,
But right now let everything be just as it is.
Now say to yourself,
Silently,
I see these thoughts.
I see these feelings.
I see all these thoughts and feelings.
Repeat this to yourself silently a couple of times.
This is the beginning of moving deeper within your own being.
This one little step of becoming the observer begins to free you from the bonds of your constantly demanding thoughts and feelings.
Now visualize a small dot of warm light in the distance,
Somewhere within the depths of your being.
With a living quality and a comforting presence.
Leave your attention,
Your consciousness,
Gradually and slowly closer to this little ball of light.
As you are approaching it,
The light is growing brighter,
But remains soft with a healing glow.
See this peaceful light as coming from the center of your own being.
In truth,
There is a light within each of us,
Just beyond the veil of thoughts and feelings and sensations.
Seeing this light begins to open our consciousness to its healing presence.
Now see this beautiful golden light as the essence of your true self,
Shining through a portal in the veil between your consciousness and its source.
The radiant source of your consciousness is pure awareness itself.
It is joy beyond joy,
And it is love without boundaries.
Allow yourself to be drawn closer and closer to this warm and healing light.
Now as you are moving closer,
The light is expanding and everything else is fading into the background of your awareness.
The light continues to grow until all is light.
In every direction,
All you see is golden waves of comforting,
Healing light.
This light itself emanates joy and peace and love.
It is safe,
Comfortable,
Warm,
Blissful,
The essence of your inmost being,
And the essence of love itself.
Just let it be,
And just be.
Allow this timeless moment of connection with your own healing light to linger.
As you embrace this light,
You are opening the window to your wholeness.
You are safe and in this moment all is well.
For a moment,
Bask in the healing glow and let go of everything.
Let comforting,
Healing light permeate every fiber of your being.
Now slowly begin to shift your awareness back to your outer world,
Back to awareness of your thoughts,
Feelings,
And senses.
As your mind is making the journey back into your everyday world,
Bring the radiance of your own healing inner light with you.
Slowly return your awareness to your breathing.
Be aware that it has been going on without your effort or attention.
The miraculous intelligence and power that keep your body breathing are also the source of the inner light of your being.
Observe a few breaths and feel the awe of being alive in your body.
You have journeyed inward and renewed your connection with the larger being of your true self,
With the joy and the love and the light that you already are,
Truly and forever.
Now slowly open your eyes and trust your inner healing light to guide you through all that lies ahead in your life and to help you heal in every area of your being that you need healing.
Bring with you into your life and into the world the pure joy and healing light of love that is your own true nature now and evermore.
