This meditation for relaxation and sleep now has soothing background music added and longer pauses for a slower pace. Relaxing Your Whole Being Into Deep Sleep With Music will guide you through a process of relaxing your whole self, mentally, physically and emotionally. It will also help you to move closer to the peace of your own higher consciousness and let go of all that distracts you from vital, refreshing and healing sleep. We will be combining elements from mindfulness, basic hypnotherapy, and a whole-being relaxation scan. It is likely that sometime during this sleep meditation you will actually fall asleep. Or you may drift in and out of a semi-sleep state for a while before drifting into a deeper sleep. Whatever happens is ok. If you are still awake when this is concluded you can repeat the program as needed. This method has been successfully tried and tested in comfortable beds, couches, lounge chairs, automobiles, airplanes, and trains.

Relaxing your whole being into deep sleep will guide you through a process of relaxing your whole self,

Mentally,

Physically,

Emotionally and spiritually.

It will also help you to move closer to the peace of your own higher consciousness and let go of all that distracts you from your vital,

Refreshing and healing sleep.

We will be combining elements from mindfulness,

Basic hypnotherapy and the whole being relaxation scan.

This method has been successfully tried and tested in comfortable beds,

Couches,

Lounge chairs,

Automobiles,

Airplanes and trains.

One element in this guided sleep meditation is moving closer to your own spiritual center or your own peace.

For just a moment now,

Bring to mind something that makes you feel peaceful.

This may be a memory of a peaceful place or experience,

Or it may be a person or a teaching that moves you into a peaceful state.

You can use whatever moves you toward comfort and peace.

During the meditation,

When you are guided to turn toward your peace,

Revisit this peaceful thought or memory.

It is likely that sometime during this sleep meditation,

You will actually fall asleep.

Or you may drift in and out of a semi-sleep state for a while before drifting into a deeper sleep.

Whatever happens is okay.

So begin now by mentally scanning your body and see if you can make it a little more comfortable right now.

This may mean shifting your position a little or consciously relaxing a part of your body that has tension.

Naturally the more comfortable you are,

The quicker and deeper your sleep will likely be.

If you are in a vehicle or somewhere there is noise,

Noise cancelling headphones can be a great help.

Just relax into being as comfortable as you can be.

Slowly move your attention to your eyes.

Close them and begin to relax your eyes.

Let the muscles around your eyes and your eyes themselves let go and relax.

You may feel subtle muscle movements as you are relaxing your eyes.

Just let them be and relax.

Now just let go of everything.

Let everything be as it is.

Turn toward your own peace,

Toward whatever brings you a peaceful feeling or spiritual comfort.

Simply visit the peaceful thought or memory you had earlier.

You are drifting toward sleep.

Be aware of your face.

Let all the muscles in your face relax.

Your cheeks,

Your jaw,

Your eyes.

Just let your whole face relax.

Now let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your own peace,

Toward whatever brings you a peaceful feeling or spiritual comfort.

You are drifting toward sleep.

Slowly shift your attention to your mind.

Just observe your thoughts for a moment and let them relax.

Let your thoughts just slow down a little and let them be.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are going to sleep.

Now observe your feelings.

Observe your feelings like you are watching the ocean.

Just let them relax and calm down.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are going to sleep.

Now move your attention all the way down to your toes.

Just be aware of your toes and let them relax.

Let all the little muscles in your toes and even the bones.

Just let go and relax.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are going to sleep.

Now be aware of your feet.

Release any tension in the muscles and bones in your feet and let them relax completely.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are going to sleep.

Moving now to your ankles,

Let them relax.

Let any tension just fall away.

Letting go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are falling asleep.

Now relax your calves.

Relax all the muscles,

Tendons and bones from your knees down to your ankles.

Letting go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are falling asleep.

Relax your knees and let them take a rest.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are falling asleep.

Relax the muscles in your thighs.

Let all tension fall away and just relax your thighs.

Let go of everything and let everything be.

Just turn toward your peace.

You are falling asleep.

Now relax your hips.

Let your hips and your pelvis just relax completely.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are falling asleep.

Relax your belly.

Let your whole abdomen relax and let it just rise and fall with the rhythm of your breathing.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are falling asleep.

Now relax your lower back.

Let all of the stress and tension loosen up and drain away.

Let everything go.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are falling asleep.

Let your chest relax completely.

Let your breathing relax into an even and effortless rhythm.

Now let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

You are falling asleep.

Relax your whole back.

Release all the tension that is stored in your back and just sink into relaxation.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be as it is and turn toward your peace.

You are falling into sleep.

Be aware of your shoulders,

The full breadth of your shoulders,

And let them relax.

Let all the weight they carry just fall away.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

Relax your upper arms.

Bring your shoulders to your elbows,

Let all the muscles relax.

Let go of everything.

Let everything be and turn toward your peace.

Let your elbows relax,

Releasing all the tension in the muscles,

Joints,

And tendons.

You are letting go of everything.

Now relax your forearms.

From your elbows to your wrists,

Let everything rest and relax.

You are letting go of everything.

You are going to sleep.

Relax your wrists and feel any tension just melting away.

You are letting go of everything.

You are falling asleep.

Now let your hands relax.

Feel your hands just completely relaxing.

You are letting go of everything.

Relax all of your fingers.

In every muscle and joint let all the tension dissolve.

Relax your neck.

A sound meditative process that repeats what seems like all of the necessary ingredients for falling asleep. I will even go so far as to say that this could quite possibly be the most effective tool out there for falling asleep. I have used this sleep meditation over and over again, and not only does it work every time, it feels like I am training myself to (remember how to) fall asleep naturally. So simple...eventually I will try following these same steps on my own when needed. For now, enjoying being guided through it. Brilliant!!
