To prepare for your meditation,
Find a comfortable,
Quiet place to sit,
Either cross-legged on the floor or in a chair.
You can also do this lying down if you prefer to or if you need to.
If you are sitting,
It is beneficial to keep the spine upright and self-supporting.
The body should be relaxed and balanced.
If you are comfortable doing so,
Close your eyes or you can hold them kind of half open without focusing on anything specific,
Just kind of peering out halfway between your inner world and the outer world.
We have all had days when everything just falls into place like the perfect steps of a dance.
When this happens,
You are in rhythm with and tuned into the universe.
We can consciously tune into the universe by opening up to our connection with the creative intelligence that is the source of all creation.
It is also the source of our own being.
It doesn't matter what you call it.
Some call it God.
Some call it presence or awareness.
It doesn't matter.
It's all the same.
Let's begin now by tuning in.
Tuning into your own presence,
Physically,
Mentally,
Emotionally and spiritually.
First we will tune into your own being and then we will tune your whole being into the universe.
Tuning in is a little different than focusing or concentrating.
Tuning in is allowing yourself to experience the essence of something,
To intuitively open up to what it has to share with you.
Begin to tune in now to your thoughts and feelings.
When they are intertwined,
Just tune in and notice what they have to say as though you are tuning into a radio station.
Try not to become involved with your thoughts and feelings.
Just objectively and without judgment,
Observe them.
Don't push them away or draw them closer.
Just tune in,
Listen and observe.
Now slowly move your attention to your sense experiences at this moment.
Tune in to your body and be aware of how it feels now.
Notice any areas of tension and let them relax.
Tune in to the natural rhythms of your body.
The ebb and flow of your breathing in and out like waves at the shore.
See if you can feel the rhythm of your heart pulsing in your chest at your temples or throughout your body.
Tune in to what your eyes are seeing even with eyes closed.
Notice the shadows,
Light and darkness,
And any images your mind is creating.
Tune in to the sounds and smells,
To the feeling of the air on your skin.
Just observe and absorb what all these sensations are telling you about your being and your world.
Now allow your body and mind to just be.
In this moment you have no desires to pursue and nothing to avoid.
Just be.
Allow the joy of just being to begin to enter into your consciousness.
This is a powerful state of being.
Give yourself permission to just let go of everything for this moment and just be.
Even if it seems boring,
Just be.
And now gradually expand your awareness outward to the whole of the universe.
We can't begin to comprehend the universe,
But we all have some concept,
Some visualization of the universe.
We know it is vast,
Limitless,
Full of power and light and darkness.
Begin to visualize and tune into the universe as you conceive it.
You are an essential part of creation and you have access to its vast storehouse of energy and inspiration.
Feel your whole being tuning into the power and creativity of the universe.
Feel yourself tuning into and aligning yourself with the natural rhythm of the universe.
The universe has its own rhythms.
In fact,
Everything in creation has rhythms.
Everything has a vibrational frequency.
All the moons move in a rhythmic dance around the planets,
Planets around suns and suns around galaxies.
Be aware for a moment that the same consciousness that guides the moon and the stars sustains and guides your life.
Now tune into all of creation with your heart.
Open your heart space to the incredible beauty of the universe.
Astonishing beauty naturally opens up and awakens the heart.
Now tune into the universe with your mind.
Contemplate the infinite size and numberless stars in the universe.
Let go of the boundaries of logic and melt into the vastness of wonder and awe.
Now tune into the universe with your whole body.
Feel your body's ancient connection with the earth,
The sea and the stars.
Tune into the joy of being alive in a body.
Tune into the infinite universe and tune into limitless possibility.
Now tune into your own deepest inner being,
The mysterious essence of who you are.
Feel your own conscious inner stillness aligning with the power and the intelligence of the universe.
Your spiritual essence,
The essence of who you are,
Is now tuned into and blended in harmony with the whole universe.
Now slowly return your awareness to your breathing.
Your breathing is the touchstone that opens your being to wholeness and joy.
As you re-enter your world of thought,
Feelings and sensations,
Bring along the peace and wholeness from deep within your own being.
The peace and wholeness that emerges from tuning into the universe.
