And as you get settled in just noticing perhaps how you may feel in our final rebound,
What feels new in your body,
Being really curious and extra sensitive to notice that internal landscape,
New sensations,
Tingles,
Heat,
Cool.
So I invite you to join me in a body scan and throughout this body scan being curious to notice that space around in your body,
Around and in your body.
If you want to move or tense and then let go,
Feel free to do so.
As we bring our awareness down to the toes,
All ten toes,
Soles of the feet,
Ankles,
Letting go of both feet,
Starting to surrender both feet and letting go of your legs,
Releasing calves,
Knees,
Thighs,
Hips.
Surrendering as we let go of both legs,
Feeling both legs and both feet completely relaxed and starting to bring your awareness through to your back,
Releasing lower back,
Mid,
Upper back,
Shoulders,
Softening the belly and chest,
Releasing from shoulders down to the arms,
The upper arms,
Forearms,
Wrists,
Hands and fingertips.
Maybe as you breathe out an invitation of surrendering and release as we let go of the upper body,
As we let go of the arms and the hands,
Feeling that whole upper body completely relaxed.
As we now notice the head and relaxing the neck,
Softening the throat,
Softening the jaws,
We release any tension through the cheeks,
Noticing tiny muscles surrounding the eyes,
As we soften eyeballs,
Eyelids,
Eyebrows,
Space in between the eyebrows and the forehead,
Unravelling the forehead,
Any tension through the scalp,
Feeling the entire head,
Face completely relaxed and maybe in your next breath out,
The invitation to let go of your entire body and being as we let go.
I'd like to share with you a poem that a friend showed me the other day,
I thought it was really nice and goes with the theme of our practice today.
So the poem is,
She Let Go.
Without a thought or a word,
She let go.
She let go of the fear,
She let go of the judgments,
She let go of the opinions swarming around her head.
She let go of the committee of indecisions within her.
She let go of all the right reasons,
Wholly and completely,
Without hesitation or worry.
She let go.
No one was around when it happened,
There was no applause or congratulations,
No one thanked her or praised her,
No one noticed a thing.
Like a leaf falling from a tree,
She let go.
There was no effort,
There was no struggle.
It wasn't good and it wasn't bad.
It was what it was and in it,
Just that.
In the space of letting go,
She let it all be.
A small smile came across or came over her face.
A light breeze blew through her and the sun and the moon shone forevermore.
She let go by Sapphire Rose.
So with that invitation,
Surrendering now to the sounds of the bowls,
As you let go.
Starting to invite yourself to come back into the room,
Back into your body.
Perhaps starting to note body in contact with ground.
Starting to note the air flowing in and out.
Maybe from there,
You might start to invite a deeper breath in and out to wake yourself back up or guide yourself back here.
And maybe starting to wriggle fingers and toes a gentle rock of the head side to side.
As you invite more movement into your body,
Just very gently and in your own pace and time.
You can take any movement or if you're quite ready to,
You might take a stretch long or a stretch out wide.
And going ahead to hug your knees in,
And giving yourself a squeeze and a big hug.
Thanking yourself for dedicating this time to practice and showing up for yourself.
Perhaps you might want to start to rock side to side,
Rolling over to your left,
Using your left arm as a pillow.
And taking your time from there,
You can choose to stay there if you like,
If you're ready to.
Guide yourself up,
Coming gently up into a comfortable seat,
The palms at the centre of the chest.
As we arrive back,
Having let go and surrendered and resourcing our reserves.
Now having this space to be filled with something special or intentional.
If you would like to set an intention for the rest of your day,
Week,
Feel free to repeat that intention to yourself three times.
And if you can,
Formatting it in the way of I am,
As if you already are,
Already doing in the present sense.
We'll close our practice arriving with that intention.
As we inhale,
Circle the arms above the head.
Palms together,
Exhale bowing,
Hands down through the centre.
Namaste.
Thank you for joining practice.
