So this meditation is really designed to invite you in to reflect on balance,
Yin and yang Coexisting,
One doesn't exist without the other,
If there is light there is dark,
If there is warmth there is cold if there is Hardness there is softness so I invite you here to Find that balance here with yin To find a place to restore,
Restock,
Resource,
Replenish Finding a place to settle in So I invite you to find that really restorative posture here Perhaps you want to Place a cushion or bolster underneath your thighs Cushion underneath your head Maybe cushions,
Pillows underneath your arms Palms to face up Maybe a weighted blanket or a blanket that is cozy and soft to place that on top of you as we explore balance the balance of the universe Yin qualities,
Passive dark,
Earthy,
Water,
Softness nighttime intuitive,
Nurturing,
Sensitive Those qualities don't exist without the yang,
Active,
Positive,
Brightness,
Heat,
Daytime production,
Restless rational,
Outgoing and logic Perhaps you might even reflect there in you're more of a yang person or you're more of a yin person Where do you need to lean into for balance?
As you come to settle down resting It's your restorative posture Noticing your breath flowing in,
Flowing in Noticing your breath The yang quality of it's in-breath expansive the yin quality of softening Passiveness as you breathe out surrender How does the breath in feel to the breath out?
And inviting in surrender I invite you for the next minute to focus on nothing at all Not forcing anything Just notice where your mind wanders That minute begins now That minute draws to a close just reflecting on what experience it was that you were there or what you felt Perhaps feeling the body surrender,
Yin But maybe the mind's more active Notice what you observe introspection that yin practice I invite now to join me in a body scan each time a body part is mentioned Offering your body to let go surrender,
Relax Allow your body to relax,
Restore replenish,
Restock resource You might notice your breath in,
Breath out As you breathe out,
You invite to let go of your legs hips down,
The thighs down,
The knees,
Calves feet ankles,
Toes Feeling both of your legs,
Feet completely relaxed Begin to notice your back,
Your back unravel across the ground Feeling your shoulders completely release of tension That tension releases down the arms,
Down to the hands,
To the fingertips As you breathe in,
As you breathe out Notice your breath Where that moves in your body Maybe you feel that in your belly.
Maybe you feel that in your chest That cyclical nature of your breath Beginning to notice your neck Connected to your head As you next breathe out Feeling the whole torso down,
The arms to the fingertips Relax As you next breathe out,
Feeling the wave Relaxing your head,
Resting to the pillow jaw eyeballs,
Eyelids eyebrows,
Space in between The invite to completely let go Completely relax Surrendering to the sounds of the balls,
Chimes Surrendering to the depth of your breath,
Completely letting go Taking your time Taking your time You're invited if you want to,
You can stay where you are Or you might start to begin noticing your body and what your body is in contact with Begin to notice the sensations of weight into your body Maybe notice your breath flowing in,
Flowing out And you might choose to deepen your breath as you invite yourself back Back into movement where you might invite your fingertips to wriggle,
Toes to wriggle You might invite your head to rock side to side You can always choose to be where you are as well.
You don't have to take any movement If you want to,
You might choose to make a bit more movement.
You might take a stretch You might hug your knees in And this is very much just take at your own pace.
You can also stay exactly where you are For those that want to move,
You might gently roll yourself over to the side just noticing that shift That shift from laying on your back to your side Notice what feedback you get there And again,
You might choose to stay there If you choose you might also come up to seated Maybe noticing that shift in weight there Recalibration from laying down now to upright and seated Just taking your time Noticing your wave of breath flowing in,
Maybe sitting that bit tall or feeling that expansion in your lungs And that release as you breathe out You might gently rock the head side center to side Feeling left to right Feeling yin to yang As we close our yin practice We'll bring the palms together And on your next inhale we'll circle reaching the arms up and exhale hands down through center Namaste Thank you for joining this meditation and I hope that you feel more balanced and invited some more yin and surrender into your busy days Take care of yourself.
