Hi friends,
Welcome back.
It's Gladys and for today's podcast I'd like to talk to you about emotions.
Now emotions for me have been a blessing and a curse and I have to say,
So as I record this I am about a week away from my 39th birthday.
So it's really brought up a lot of stuff for me and where I thought I would be at 39 and how far I've come and working with all these emotions.
You're taught from high school,
What do you want to do with the rest of your life and where are you going?
So I think in high school,
In a junior and a senior you just kind of create this life for yourself and have this faux plan and I have to say,
Nothing in my life has ever gone according to plan.
Such is the divine way,
Right?
I always say it always goes in accordance with God's plan and we never really know what that is.
So here I am heading into the last year of my 30s and thinking back on what have I been doing and where am I at in my life and where am I going and being cautious not to really set a plan.
And emotions have been a really big theme in my life and from what I'm seeing in society and life and what's happening on this planet,
Emotions have been huge.
Now I have to say I've spent a large part of my life avoiding emotions,
Stuffing emotions,
Hiding from emotions,
Running from emotions and at this point I'm really,
Over the last year I've really decided to just face it.
I've been reading and researching anything I could.
I believe the work that I do is an absolute deep down calling for me.
I feel like God chose me on some level to do this work and I will do it as long as he shows up for me and guides me along my path.
And so that being said,
Falling into this work I've realized that I can't do the work that I do for my clients if I don't do my own inner work.
So working with emotions has been something that has been a grand theme in my life.
Now I have to say I didn't know growing up about astrology and the divine and I didn't really have a good foundation for religion or faith system.
So I've really kind of been on this path exploring and after having my astrology chart done and seeing that cancer,
The sign that cancer dominates my chart,
It just makes me realize that I've come into this life to learn,
Work through and embrace emotions.
You know and as I look back too,
I live in a world that doesn't seem to fit me.
So being this cancer sign on top of being left handed,
On top of being barely 5 feet,
Let's face it the world just does not fit me.
Seats don't fit me,
Desks don't fit me,
Notebooks,
All of that stuff.
So it's no coincidence that I grew up with this complex of needing or wanting to fit in.
And so now in my last year of my 30s,
I think about all this stuff and I have to say even my name as Gladys doesn't fit in.
I remember growing up and just wishing that I would be a Debbie or a Lisa or a Jessica.
God bless you that have that name because it's beautiful names and you kind of just fit in,
Right?
So I have to say it like again in this space at 39,
I look back at all these things and I've accepted that I just don't go with the flow like in the way of like being that box person.
And so as much as I try to fit into this box,
Everything mind,
Body,
Spirit and emotions says otherwise.
So I want to talk to you about emotions.
I shared with you a few podcasts ago how at the beginning of the year I was really struggling with depression and what I wanted to do with my life and where I was going.
And I have to say I find that's when I do my deepest inner work and have been able to embrace it.
I also noticed that the people around me were having really intense emotions that made me uncomfortable.
And so I recently read this book called The Untethered Soul.
And if you haven't read it yet,
It's so powerful.
It is like the way or the guide in the how to balance your mind and your spirit self.
And so I've been really letting that information marinate for a while.
And I found that I would be super uncomfortable around people having emotions,
Whether like the emotions of anger or frustration or stress.
And I kept feeling the need to like fix it and save it and change it and make it better.
Now I know I know that we can't fix,
Save,
Change and make better.
I've said it a million times,
But I would totally just fall into it and not even realize.
And so going through different types of therapies and embracing my emotions and feeling it out,
I really feel like it's some sense of freedom to be able to express all different kinds of emotions.
Now there are three emotions that I find are super powerful to manifesting and creating and shifting that yucky energy that's inside.
Right now on our planet,
Our caregivers,
Healers,
Earth angels,
Light workers,
Empaths,
All these beings of light are going through like a transformation right now.
And all the shadow stuff,
All the secrets,
All the emotions that we've been stuffing for eons,
This goes back past lives,
Are starting to come to the surface for us to work through.
Now I have to see,
I see this stuff like in my outside world,
Which is a direct reflection of what's going on in my inside world.
And I really have just learned to embrace it and be in the space.
So what the Untethered Soul book teaches is that when you're triggered or you feel these emotions,
Allow them to come up and out,
Like breathing through them,
Bringing your mind back to the present moment.
And it's all super powerful,
But I've also found that there's these three powerful emotions that really kind of shift energy and get you in the right head space.
So if you're like me,
It's so easy to kind of dwell on and fall into the trap of these anger,
Fear,
Frustration,
Resentment,
Powerlessness,
Stress,
Shame,
Blame,
All that yucky stuff.
But what I found that it is a motivator and it is a force that propels me forward.
And instead of resisting it,
And if I just embrace it and allow it to move through me,
Then things can be a lot easier.
So the three emotions that I really try to counter that energy with is compassion,
Pride,
And gratitude.
If you can allow those other emotions to come up and out of your body and then counter it with some feeling and emotion and energy of pride,
Compassion,
And gratitude,
You'd be amazed at how powerful that vibration is.
And Archangel Hanielle,
Archangel Hanielle is the angel of joy.
She's the angel of passion.
So also inviting her into your life and asking her for assistance to raise the vibration.
So compassion,
What I mean about compassion is being able to be compassionate towards people into the space that they're at.
So my boyfriend,
For example,
He's going through his own spiritual awakening and is shifting and this divine inspiration is coming and he can struggle with parts of,
Or I should say he struggles with areas in his life that he doesn't have control over.
And as we both struggle with life decisions we've made and moving through regret.
And so having compassion for him,
What was happening that was empathizing with him and I was taking on that energy unconsciously.
And then I would realize that I was taking it on and then I would get frustrated and I'd kind of push it back on him.
So think about how we carry people's bag of rocks.
So he's going through his stuff and he's carrying this bag of rocks.
And then me being who I am and wanting to problem solve and help and find an answer and come up with a solution,
I realized that I eventually take his bag of rocks.
And then when I see that I then have the bag of rocks,
I get frustrated and I'm like,
Darn it,
I have that bag of rocks again.
And then I want to like toss it back to him and like run and retreat.
So we've been kind of going through this metamorphosis and I have to say he's such a beautiful soul and I'm learning so much.
It's no coincidence that God brought us together.
And the depth of our healing that we've gone through in the last couple of years has been so incredibly powerful,
But I'm not going to lie,
It has been a challenge.
So I've really invited God into our relationship and I really believe in the power of miracles.
And since us inviting this energy in like as a priority in our relationship,
Things have really transformed and we've gotten like in deeper space.
So when we're out and we're enjoying each other,
We're in that place of gratitude.
We're so grateful for the space that we're in.
We say,
God,
Bring us more of this or something even better.
And then I'm in this place of compassion,
Seeing that he's going through this transformation.
Maybe you have children or parents or coworkers or best friends,
Any kinds of family members that you're close to who are going through this metamorphosis.
I encourage you to let them find their way.
Have compassion for them.
You know,
So many times I ask my boyfriend,
Like,
What can I say or what do you need from me or what do you want me to do?
And his answer is just listen.
He doesn't want me to do anything.
He just wants somebody to hear him.
And I swear,
I feel like it's so powerful when I'm telling him how I'm feeling and what's going on.
And I feel this like that I'm being heard on a deeper level.
It's so powerful.
And then we just kind of give gratitude for the space that we're in.
We've had some experiences that we've wanted so badly and it didn't work out and we get disappointed and then we,
You know,
Counter it with gratitude.
We allow the disappointment to flow through us and then we just counter it with gratitude,
You know,
For finding it and knowing that we're one step closer to that which we want.
And then also too,
This compassion,
This compassion for each other in this beautiful space.
And then I want to also talk about pride.
So pride for a lot of people is scary.
I remember a while back,
So I do,
I lead a guided meditation once a week at a cable company.
It's like a corporate cable company.
And every week I go in and I lead a guided meditation for the employees that choose to sign up.
And there's a security guard down that he kind of gives me my badge and I have to wait for somebody to escort me up.
So we were talking and he asked me what I did and I told him that I was a spiritual advisor,
A gifted medium.
I do intuitive life coaching and he's like,
Oh,
He's like,
You're a medium.
And I said,
Proudly,
Yes,
I am one of the best in Southern New England.
You know,
When he kind of chuckled a little bit and like sarcastically,
But not rudely said,
Well,
That's not,
What do you say,
Conceited or anything.
And I paused for a moment.
I said,
You know what?
I didn't really mean it in that way.
You know,
When I told him,
I said,
No,
I said,
I'm really proud of the work that I do.
I go home and I go to bed every night knowing that I was able to support somebody on their journey to transformation and divine growth and be able to shine a light in a darkness for people.
And I had to say to him,
I'm really proud of that.
This is a calling for me.
So when I talk about pride,
I'm talking about spiritual pride.
Maybe you're proud of your children.
Maybe you're proud of the work that you do.
Maybe you're just proud of the person that you are.
You know,
Maybe you got kind of like a difficult hand at life,
But yet you blast through it.
So if you can sit with what you're proud of,
That spiritual pride,
It's so powerful to shift energy.
And so,
You know,
I told him that,
You know,
My pride comes from the hours that I put in,
The money that I spent,
The time that I put in to really make sure that I was doing something in accordance with my soul.
And it's not about money or it's not about time like I did this and that's my badge of honor.
But the drive and the passion that I had through it is the pride that so many times I wanted to give up,
So many times I wanted to quit.
I mean,
There was a time when I started my business in one of the worst economic downfalls in our history.
And everybody said it can't be done.
It's not a field that's warranted.
How are you going to make a living?
But I just felt like I needed to do it.
I'd gone through it myself and I just knew that people were going to need this.
They were going to need some pathway to faith.
You know,
There are many,
Many paths to spiritual paths.
And what I do is I just kind of shine a light on many different ones.
And so I remember at one point I could only put $5 of gas in my car and hope that I was going to be able to get everything I needed to done.
And that happened for a while.
That's when gas prices were about $4 a gallon.
And I really,
I really questioned what I was doing.
But you know,
God bless my mother.
She instilled this incredible work ethic inside of me and I couldn't turn it away.
I just knew there was something more for me and I had to blast through my demons and I had to blast through my roadblocks and the walls I was putting up for myself.
So here I am almost 11 years later,
So proud of the foundation that I built for myself because it's really,
I'm only going up from here.
So these emotions are powerful.
If you have people who are having emotions around you,
Let them feel the emotions.
So there's a group that I work with every week and it's a group of men and they're all going through some type of rehab,
Like leaving old into the new,
Whether it's trying to work through depression,
Mental illness,
Drugs or alcohol,
All that stuff.
And so my job is to go in and talk to them about spirituality and especially with men,
You know,
I say to them,
Have emotions,
Let them come up and out.
They're taught from such a young age to close up their heart and swallow it,
Stuff it and swallow it.
Well,
What happens now,
Especially in this divine place that we're in,
It's all spilling out and kind of leaking out everywhere.
And so I tell them and I say to my boyfriend too,
Have your emotions.
But I have to say with my boyfriend,
He never directs the emotions towards me.
He never dumps them on me in that space.
For example,
You know,
If these emotions of anger or frustration are going to come up,
Let them come up.
And when I tell the guys in the group,
Like,
Hey,
Let them come up,
Don't stuff them.
But you can still be kind,
You can be considerate and you can be respectful because there's no reason not to be.
Like if you want to have a moment and you're triggered and you want to allow that to come out,
Let it come up and out.
But you don't have to dump it on somebody else.
You don't have to talk to them cruelly or you don't have to drag everybody else into it and kind of bring everybody down.
So those have always been my guidelines with anything that I do.
You can be kind,
You can be respectful and you can be considerate because really there's no reason not to be.
So if you're one that's having emotions and you're moving through emotions,
I always say get support.
If I can be some support for you,
I do a lot of intuitive life coaching,
Spiritual guidance,
Help people,
Actually I work with people to strengthen their faith,
Whatever that is to them.
And I give people different perspective of the experiences they're having in their life.
And that's my job.
But again,
There's incredible therapists and life coaches out there.
But I always suggest if you are an emotional person or you've got a lot of emotions coming up,
Let somebody in who knows how to teach you to go within,
To listen to the pain,
To listen to the sadness,
To listen to the depression,
To listen to the anger,
Because there are messages there for you.
We're going through this transformation where we're raising the vibration and we really have have to have healthy bodies.
So these emotions that we've been stuffing have been stuck in our cellular memory for eons and it's all kind of spilling out.
So detach from what everybody else is doing,
Kind of create a shield and a wall and let them cry it out.
Let them get angry.
But again,
Set your boundaries.
They can still be kind,
They can be respectful and they can be considerate.
And that's I think that's a powerful way to be able to separate and have compassion for people instead of empathizing and going there.
So as I mentioned earlier,
Definitely call on Archangel Hanielle.
She's powerful for joy.
And also to the Archangel Uriel,
That's U-R-I-E-L.
He is incredible for emotions.
When you feel like you're on that tsunami wave,
Invite him in.
And what he does,
It's like he plucks you off that tsunami wave and he plops you on a catamaran in the Caribbean.
So you're still riding the wave,
But yet you're got support underneath you.
You have sunshine on your face and it's not so tumultuous.
So beautiful angels to call in.
Archangel Uriel is this beautiful yellow color.
For me,
He seems to send like light bulbs or lanterns,
Lamps,
Things like that.
Maybe lights flicker or maybe light bulbs go out or maybe you start seeing like lanterns or he's like a guiding light.
Those candle lamps,
Things like that.
And then Hanielle,
She comes in.
I have to say,
One of the things that I see often with her is the mirror.
It's like she reminds us of who we are and the joy that's within us.
And also her color.
I've seen her color as like a green and white,
Like striped color.
I know if you do the research on Hanielle,
There are other colors that she's associated with,
But green and white or that like Hunter Army green and white tend to be the color that she comes in for me.
And it's powerful.
So they're great angels to work with and invite in.
You know,
Like I said,
They all abide by the law of free will.
So you really have to just have an open heart and an open mind and invite them in.
And one of the quotes when I'm having difficult emotions,
Allow them to come up and out.
And one of the quotes that I've been saying often this year is the joy of the Lord is my strength.
I have that hanging up in my room.
So I see it daily.
And when I'm not feeling it,
I ask God to just fill me up with his powerful joy so that it radiates out.
And what happens is that joy eventually gets reflected back towards me.
So the joy of the Lord is my strength.
So I thank you once again for listening,
Friends.
And I'm glad to be on this journey with you.
I'm glad you're on this journey with me.
