So welcome to this guided meditation to help you connect with and discover your inner sanctuary.
So there is a lot going on in the world around us at the moment.
And so it can be helpful to learn how to connect with that place inside of ourselves where we can find peace,
A sense of grounding and ease,
Where we can tune back into our own personal energy field.
And so I invite you to begin by coming into a comfortable seated or lying down position.
Taking your time to settle in here and closing your eyes whenever you're ready.
And then just begin by feeling into the surface beneath you.
Feeling into a sense of support and stability.
And then turning towards your breath.
Just noticing where the breath goes as it enters you.
And as it departs.
And then drawing your attention towards the crown of your head.
And slowly scanning your body downwards,
Just observing if there is any unconscious habitual tension that you might be able to release here.
So perhaps softening the muscles in your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders or your belly.
Slowly coming back down to that direct sensation of your body against the earth.
And now I invite you to travel in your mind's eye to a place in nature where you feel safe,
At peace and supported.
Can be any place that you've been or a place that you might imagine.
And as you hold this place within you,
Notice what is here.
Are there trees or other plants?
Is there a sun or a moon?
Or is there any other element or form of wildlife here surrounding you?
Just allowing this place to draw you deeper and deeper into it.
Feeling yourself here and allowing yourself to rest within this place completely.
Breathe in the air of this place and exhale any stress or tension back to this place,
Trusting that it will be transformed.
Noticing if there is any word of wisdom or insight that this environment would like to share with you.
Just remaining open and perceptive to this place.
Feeling yourself softening into this inner sanctuary.
Taking just a few more breaths into this sanctuary.
Absorbing any last bits of wisdom this place would like to share with you.
And exhaling to release a little bit deeper.
Know that you can come back to your inner sanctuary whenever you need to.
But for now,
Letting the imagery dissolve as you just come back into your breath,
Into the feeling of the surface beneath you.
Into the space that holds you.
Just keeping your eyes closed for another moment or two.
When you're ready,
Bringing a bit of light movement into your shoulders,
Your fingers and your toes.
And in your own time,
Opening your eyes whenever you're ready.
