This bedtime visualization is a guided journey from a cozy log cabin to a dock beneath the starry night sky. Incorporating the sounds of a crackling log fire, a humming forest, and lapping waves, it is a nature-based practice that invites us to reconnect with the earth and to release our worries and concerns. It begins with 14 minutes of spoken guidance, leaving you with 20 minutes of the sounds of waves to soothe you into slumber.

Hello.

My name is Jillian Florence Sanger and welcome to this soft and soothing nighttime visualization to help you sink into a tranquil and restorative summer.

Take a few moments to settle in,

Ensuring you are well supported by any cushions and blankets you require.

And when you are ready,

Gently let your eyes close to the day that is now behind you.

Now take a few long and steady breaths to settle in.

Soften your belly as you breathe and allow your limbs to soften into the surface beneath you.

Let your forehead muscles relax and your jaw as well.

And then mindfully ease any other muscles that might be unconsciously contracted.

Now to move right into our visualization,

I invite you to imagine yourself sitting comfortably at a large harvest table by an open window in a cozy log cabin.

Outside the sky is dark and within a few candles offer their luminescence.

A crackling fire glows to,

Saying into the silence of the cabin.

Through large floor to ceiling windows,

You can see that a short distance away from you,

Away from this cabin,

A glistening lake sits peacefully beneath the mystic full moon perched above.

The cabin is warm and outside on this late summer night,

You imagine the air is too.

As you admire the ripples in the surface of the lake from afar,

You feel your body melting,

Each knot of tension slowly beginning to relax into the night.

Your belly softens and your heart widens and something calls you deeper into the night,

Deeper into the natural world that rests beyond these walls.

Rising to your feet slowly,

You root yourself into the solid oak flooring beneath you.

You take a long deep breath in,

Your crown stretching up towards the A-frame above and then you let go with a sigh,

Slowly making your way to the door that leads you into the magic of the world.

You grab a blanket on your way out,

Gently closing the door behind you.

The sound of the crackling logs fades and instead your ears become infiltrated by the soft sound of whispering leaves.

The sound is gentle,

Held perfectly against a backdrop of clear,

Open silence.

The air is warm enough against your skin but you wrap yourself in your blanket for extra nourishment.

Now before you,

There is a set of stairs which leads down from the perch the cabin rests on.

One by one,

Your feet reach through the air for another step below,

Each movement downwards carrying you deeper into the peace and tranquility of the silent night.

Soon,

Both feet land on the pressed earth pathway at the foot of the stairs,

A narrow trail surrounded by evergreens,

Oaks,

And birch trees.

You pause here for a moment,

Taking time to mindfully inhale and exhale the pine-infused air.

As you root your feet into the forest floor beneath you,

You feel yourself intimately connected with all beings and with the collective being that we call earth.

Your crown reaches out for the starry sky,

Your forehead relaxes,

And you begin on your way down the path towards the lake.

Take your time to really be here,

To admire the scenery of this magic forest.

You listen to the sound of chirping insects and the light breeze that whistles through the leaves.

You release a deep sigh into the night,

Feeling aligned with the world exactly as it rests.

Soon,

The lake comes into view,

Held beneath the glow of the beaming moon.

The world is quieter now,

But for the sound of gently lapping waves against the rocky shore.

And as you make your way closer to the water's edge,

You soon arrive at a long,

Wide dock that stretches out across the mystic waters.

Wrapping your blanket more tightly around your shoulders,

You make your way onto the wooden planks that enable you to float in stillness above the flowing element beneath you.

You settle yourself onto the dock,

Coming to rest on your side or on your back.

Above you,

The darkened sky and its dazzling stars beam down on you,

Nestling you comfortably into this night.

And as you gaze up at the atmosphere you are one with,

You feel an immense sense of trust,

Peace,

Presence and place amidst its enormity.

Suddenly,

Any worries or concerns about daily life seem to dissipate,

Perhaps with the help of a deep out-breath.

And as you settle into this unfolding moment here on the dock,

Above the water and beneath the stars,

You allow yourself to surrender,

To let go of anything that no longer serves you,

Even if only for this night.

Your eyes continue to dance amongst the constellations as you sink deeper and deeper into your place in the world.

The mind quiets,

The body softens,

And the heart opens wider to the mystery of the universe and of existence itself.

Amidst the glimmer of stars above you,

You let your eyes land upon one that speaks out to you.

And in the peace of this quiet night,

You let it hear you.

You offer to this star your intentions for the coming days,

Or perhaps expressions of gratitude for anything and everything you have to be grateful for.

And soon,

Once all words have been spoken that needed to be said,

Your eyes begin to grow weary.

Gently,

You let them close on this starry night,

Still listening to the lullaby of the soft waves beneath you.

Before surrendering into sleep completely,

You take a moment to scan your body,

Starting at the crown of your head and slowly inching downwards.

As you pass any areas of tension,

You gently explore what it might be like to soften these areas,

Also sending love and support to any parts of you that require a little extra nourishment.

Your entire body relaxes as you let yourself go,

Melting into the peace that lives within you.

You let go.

Sinking deeper into this mystic night.
